Hi. Im looking to buy a new boat. I've narrowed it down to two choices, the nautique crossover 236 and the SAN 230. These boats seem incredibly similar. The old man wants a crossover model, and obviously i want to go big!!!!! Ive been struggling to convince him that the two boats are almost identical and that there's no reason to get a crossover because we don't do anything but wakeboard and surf.

So can somebody here enlighten me on the difference between these two boats?

Much appreciation and respect.

peace

They are identical except for the options. Make your old man happy and get the 236 loaded!

exactly what it sounds like. the 230 has a huge wake and the crossovers is gonna be mellower to ski behind! go with the 230!

they are the same boat, same hull, the difference is in the options. Same wake, depending on ballast options.

Straight from the owner of our local nautique dealer: "The 230 and the 236 are identical, the 230 was created because the pro riders did not want to be seen behind a 'crossover' wakeboard boat"

^^ way to buy into marketing hype.

they are the same boat.

I think the real fct tower, the one that looks like a nautique, not a malibu wannabe only comes on the 236, but I could be wrong.

Guys I have a 236 it is exactly the same boat as the 230. If you get a team edition the only difference is the prop. 236 stock prop gives higher top end and 230 prop gets more hole shot. Hulls are Identical. In 07 the 236 was introduced as the Crossover air Nautique and was released as the 230 in 08.

Like everyone else said (except one), they are the same hull and can be loaded with the same options and will produce the same wake when weighted the same. The interior patterns on the vinyl are a bit different betweent the 236 and 230. The 230 has more curved color patterns and the 236 is blockier.

The tower choices are available on all of the boats. The 230 can come with FCT1, FCT, or FCT3 (which some call the malibu wannabe). We love the FCT3 with Z5 Cargo rack in both design and function. To each their own.
