what size lens are you using to get riding pics from in the boat. i currently have a 55-200mm but want to get closer and ive found some 500mm lens. the lens will be used for wakeboarding and im not looking to gets pics published...just to share with friends

You'll get better and more feedback if you post in the photography section.

The 55-200 should be more than enough if your shooting from the tow boat. A 500mm would be way to tight. IMO you should avoid shooting to tight. You'll and up with a GUY IN THE SKY shot with no perspective.

i have a big five hundred even perched up in the open bow of a twenty four foot boat it is way to much
