So all of the weekend regulars at san v are as.. out now for a fresh water lake to ride until next summer. I rode lsinore last wintr and it wasnt too bad, bt after seeing the " last beer in the cooler" post I am really wondering if I wanna ride in the green this winter? Anyone have any recent pis or been there that can say how bad it really is?

I was at the Lake today, (USC tourney), and it was like watery split-pea soup that had been cooked too much in the microwave and created a thin (and gross) top layer. It looked delicious...

The way I gauge The Green is how far down I can get my foot below losing track of it. Often less than a foot, and sometimes it's only like six inches or so.

I don't know what the big deal is. You know those Odwalla health drinks, right on the back they say Blue Green Algae. So in my tournament ride I reached down grabbed a handfull and had me some Odwalla, au naturale style. VERDICT: Delicious!! Seriously though I did do that without even thinking during the turnaround, I feel better than ever today! Drink Elsinore for better health!!

Yea its really bad. No more riding Elsinore until May when I move my boat back out to Mead. Stay away!!!! I like those mornings when a board slide skims the scum right off and covers your legs with GREEN OOZ.

I was at Elisnore back in 1989 first and only time I had been there, I got super sick from accidently taking in to much water not letting go of the ski handle when I was skiing. I broke out with sores in my mouth couldnt eat and lost like 15 lbs . I will never go back to that discusting lake.

Last time I rode in Elsinore I was attacked by a serpent. So was my friend. Don't ever go there.

Ok enough...its been so long since I have been there all I remmeber is getting sick after taking in some of the water. Hmmm Im thinking it may be one of those secret places you guys keep talking about, Ok fine all help out a little more. As long as you dont mind your hair fallig out or your teeth rotting from the acid in the water, oh, and I hear they have found Bull sharks as big as 300 lbs in that lake.

What's the deal with the water being so dirty and green? Is it from run off or what? I know our most lakes down here are dirty (except for the spring fed ones), but it's more due to the palmetto trees and weeded bottoms. I don't get why it's so pea green.

Ohhhhh, thanks guys for explaining that one! So, I'm guessing your lakes are rock bottoms since algae sits like that? That does look pretty nasty, I wouldn't get in that water.

I was out Sat morning w/ Troy Lindstrom and his son Chad and it was pretty green. I had chunks of green on my shorts...but hey, the water was glass and we had a great time. Thanks for the pulls Troy anytime you wanna go back out let me know.

I guess glass is glass no matter what color it is. Just think of it as organic water. We are going out Friday. How was the temp??

It was about 64 or 65...warmer than the air so it wasn't too bad. I wore trunks and a chill guard and was fine. The water was actually warm compared to the air temp (about 55).
