I recently bought the SS Hooke 2012 and i know it is a heavier board because it is specificly for boat, but when i ride its so far down in the water and it seems like speeding up would help but it still doesnt help much. Is that the way its supposed to be, i ride at a speed of 20.5-21 should i go higher speed?

Boy I don't notice that myself. Is the board your used to a bigger board? Did you go down in size?

I went from a 137 liquid force board to a 134 in SS but they are the same size

I would guess you mean standing beside each other the boards appear the same length because of the different shapes. But your new board is smaller, that may be the issue

I went from a Liquid Force PS3 141 and Ultra boots to a Slingshot Hooke 142 and RADs this year. Doesn't feel heavier to me. In fact, it feels lighter in the water and weighs less (1 pound) on the scale.

idk, I would think 134 would be fine for you. Maybe its just the difference in rocker plus the little bit smaller that you aren't used to. Just give it a little time and try to be open to it feeling different than you are used to I guess, you can try going faster if you like and see if you're more comfortable with that board up over 21mph , cant hurt

until you slam, then it can hurt

I got the 146 and it does not feel slow and heavy to me and I am a big guy. It is one of the faster boards I have owned. I ride at 24.5 but i am also 6'4 240 and ride pretty far out.

SS boards are less buoyant so the feeling is normal, it will ride a little bit lower but should retain speed
