Hi folks...

I've been out of the scene for 4ish years or so... getting back into the swing of things. I'm a pretty good rider and have been doing it since I was young.

My current board is a 08/09? LF Lyman 139.. the black one with the skull, I love it. But its old and beat up, somewhat water logged.

Of the current boards out there.... what boards should I be looking at that have a similar personality to the Lyman?

Thanks!

How about the Slingshot Lyman? .... my guess is he kept it somewhat similar but with flex.

I loved the Lyman 139, demoed it for a few sets, almost bought one, then I rode the LF witness 140.... and that's all she wrote. This was back in 09-10? I have been on a witness ever since. Haven't ridden the witness grind yet, but that is all they offer now for 2015. I hear it feels the same, maybe a little bit more loose than the traditional witness, but I do not know yet. I am still rocking my 2013 witness. The two were similar in speed, and without the center fin, similar on how loose they felt. The only thing I felt that was noticeable between the two was the witness has more pop. Both boards were excellent... and now both boards are discontinued But if you can get your hands on a 2013 witness, I d would give it a try.

I was on the Lyman too and went to the Witness. It's a little looser but great. There's a Derek Cook model out here in Norcal that looks pretty sick.

Coming off the Lyman as well. Really loved it, was bummed when one finally broke.

On the Code 22 now. Immediately was comfortable, but had to step down to .6 babooshka fins to get the looseness of Lyman. The code edges sharper, which was the biggest adjustment.

Also tried the Harley. Also a great board that you might like. Also had to step down the fins.

Neither board is exactly like the Lyman but close enough IMO.

I'm talking about the LF Lyman, btw. Would have tried the Slingshot Lyman, if the hadn't discontinued it.

Check out the Ronix Viva. I rode it for years, and absolutely loved it. It's wicked fast, and a side benefit to its speed is how little you have to work to ride it. It just glides across the water. I recently switched to a Ronix Timebomb, and although I really like it, it definitely wears me out faster. Evo has a nice deal on a 2013 Viva right now:

I knew Derek cook rode the witness, but which model are you talking about?

Cook has his own limited edition Witness this year with norcal wakeboard camp graphics. Local shops have some in stock.

Coming off a Lyman, I'd go with a Ronix code 22 its super fast on the water and launches you
