I had an original 10+ year old Yellow Jacket rope and really liked it. It finally snapped, so I replaced it with a new Byerly Jacket rope hoping that the quality and performance hadn't diminished. Unfortunately the new rope doesn't float! I guess I'll return it, but I am curious if other people with new Jacket series ropes find them to float or sink. The description of the rope even says it floats!

Mine is a few years old but it floats. The handle doesn't but the rope does. The handle usually sits just below the surface.

Funny you should post that. Just got one and like you, loved my old one. The new one feels exactly the same, but doesn't float. I think the originals (10+ years old) had a neoprene core. No clue what's inside the new ones. The other day as we sat parked between riders, the length of the rope actually sunk my floating handle with it. Very crazy, but I'm too lazy to return it.
