What up guys, winter blues are hitting me hard and it seems I'm not going to be able to snowboard that much anymore so I have been watching some wake films to get me pre maturely amped for spring. In the last week I have watched Defy, Slick City, Lipsmack, Beyond the Pond, The Butter Effect, Parks Documentary, Faction and countless youtube and vimeo edits.

The Butter effect was given to me by a good friend who I ride with and I love the older footage of wake boarding, I don't really know why. Just seems more raw and badass. I was wondering if there is any other films you guys can point me too.

I have heard of 12 honkeys and Counterfeit This but not really sure how i can get my hands on them. Any help would be appreciated. also I live in Canada where wake films are hard to come by but hopefully Performance Ski and surf will have some when I take my annual trip down to orlando with my girlfriend and her family.

12 honkeys, Switch 22, Mayday, Counterfeit This, Retrospect (Byerly Doc), Free for All, Skurfs Up (This video is old but pretty legend for it's time, I think Byerly lands one of the first 720s but could be wrong). Try researching those to start. All great vids

High wake drifters, fluid.

Pretty sure most of these can be purchased in sets now. Just google old wakeboarding videos, and you'll find the sites to purchase them.
Music was better on the older videos too!

My buddy hooked me up with another film - Free For All, hopefully i will have some down time to watch.

He said it's his favourite one because of the swollen members songs which gets me amped

So in 2014, what era of videos are considered old school? You say old school I think stuff from the 90's, but also anything before the high speed cameras will look "old school", ala maybe pre 2006. 12 Honkeys is entertaining, if you like Randall then Natural Born Thrillaz is a must, Anything with Murray, Byerly, or Watson is entertaining.

Yea I consider is pre2006 i'd say. I am only 23 so I may be a bit younger than most of the people on this site. I haven't really seen a film with murray in it. Maybe I just forget but I can't really recall.

Short of Parks Bonifay, you should look into the Parks Documentary. Awesome movie going from childhood to now.

I've kept myself busy for hours just watching Youtube videos. Every once in a while you will find a gem
