I am looking for sacks or bags that you can put lead in. About a year ago someone on the forum was making them. Any ideas where they are available? Thank You Joe

I just did this in my boat. I went to Home Depot and got thick plastic bags and put them in $7 small tool bags that zipped from Harbor Frieght. Weigh them out at 50lb each and you are set to go!

I have about 800lbs of this works great! They are 40lbs a sack and have handles which makes them easy to move around. They are easy to work with. I had the sacks dropped shipped to a local shipping company and picked them up there.

I have a bunch of the pop-product bags. They are good, but I have busted a few bags. The best I have seen by far are the leadwake bags. I dont know if he has a website, but you can try leadwake@yahoo.com. I know he will sell just the bags.

PM me, I have a buddy who makes 50 lbs lead sacks.... super legit. they weight 10 lbs more than the pop-products bags, take up a lot less space, are about the same price, and are better quality imo.

Love my Pop bags. I guess they could break if you move them around a lot. Mine have been through 6 different boats since I got them and they're all still totally intact.

This is what I do... These "husky" tool bags can be bought from Home Depot for about $9... Then just fill with lead. I lined them with a couple of target plastic bags and weigh them with a bathroom scale. I've now got 4 movable, durable 50 lb ballast bags for a decent price....
