So my good friend has a 05 yamaha AR230 lives right on a shallow body of water so I understand having the jet boat.

He found a guy in Indiana making a wake wedge. Thought I would share. It's pretty bad ass. I told him to get one for spring. We're gonna try it out. Looks like a good surf wake for a jet boat.

Have any of you guys seen a wake like this out of a jet boat? Seems pretty decent. Boat had 1500 pounds of ballast in it. So more room to go there.

If he lives on shallow water he's not going to make a wave like that. Anything under 12-14 feet starts to shrink the wave. Under 10 and it kills it.

So if its shallow enough to require a jet boat, doubt your going to be making a surf wave.

That's correct. He has the boat for his back yard. But wants to do more with it on other body's of water. So I thought this was cool.

That is very clean for a Jet boat. Making a wake with a Yamaha is pretty easy. The deep V hull lends itself to a good sized wake with decent drive. The problem is the jet wash. If you drive turning into the wake slightly they clean up and you can see the potential. The single jets do better better because the pump is buried in the water vs off to the side spitting water out. The problem is they are to small. I spent a couple seasons lurking to Surf years ago on my Yamaha.

This summer we bought the boys a 14ft Boston Whaler jet boat. Check out the Wave how clean it is! Had not much weight, but look what a 14ft boat could produce. Demonstrating it is the hull that make s a big difference.
