Light scuffs that don't go through the clear coat should be an easy fix. It doesnt matter if its flake or solud. Doing it by hand? That's a different story... Buy a buffer. They're cheap and you don't need a super good one plus it'll do a much better job than doing it by hand. I've been using the same piece of junk Black and Decker buffer for 20 years just waiting for it to break and it won't. It still gets the job done and it wasn't more than $40-$50.
