Camber would be a reverse rocker, where the middle of the board would actually raise up, or a reverse rocker continuous rocker from a point in the tip and tail. Those examples are more of a parabolic shape, but still have a normal wakeboard rocker. Stating the obvious for most, but that is why a snowboard's middle sits off the ground when just laying on the floor, it's cambered rather than rockered.

I dont think camber and sidecut are the same thing. But I do think that hydroslide is hilarious

I saw an ad for the 2014 shredtown. Seems to be a lot more flexible than previous years.

if ronix truly is looking at and doing a cambered rocker, i wonder how that will react when hitting the wake? or if you land hard, casing the wake? Part of me want's to call BS, but i love seeing companies experiment with and progress tech in wake so i will hold my tongue, but not so much my brain. time will tell i guess. surf expo reveal.

I was skeptical about putting camber in wakeboards as well, until I rode one. Overall an insanely fun and effective ride. Exciting things are coming!

Interesting that System bindings only come in two colors now.

Dang, I was hoping for a new traditional Franchise shape. Cool to see Jimmy get his own flex board.

My only question is this…with the new System bindings being baseless, will previous years boots that have the molding for the base work in the new binding? It would seem like there would be a large gap under the arch. Tarek, any input?

is there a difference between byerlys systems and hyperlites? I know theyre technically the same company but you never know
Old     (tom_paz)      Join Date: Jan 2003       08-28-2013, 9:44 AM Reply
Stephan - the old boots will work with the new baseless bindings, but not vice versa. The gap on the bottom of the old boot is okay, but the old bindings bridge will interfere with the flat bottom of the new boots.

Orion... Double Up has been around forever, they just don't market themselves in the US. They are a main player in Australia though. Henry... the Byerly and Hyperlite System bindings are exactly the same.

Just got my first glimpse of 2014 Liquid Force. Pretty solid. New boot liners that fit your foot and calf super well..pretty solid graphics...and stoked on the new shapes and designs for their new cable/rail decks. Almost every flex board changed w exception of watson, shane, bob.

Do you have a website or any leads to the new LF gear?

I havent seen any pics of the LF stuff yet, but I was able to try on the 2014 CT vantages... they are so sick. I can't believe they could be more comfortable than my 2010 vantages, but they are. Can't wait for them to drop so I can pick up a pair.

Probably not. The first KTV was bottomless as well but the liner was not removable. If it was it would be the same as the shredtown.
Old     (tarek)      Join Date: Jun 2011       09-04-2013, 3:20 PM Reply
shredtowns are the only boot in the line that have the removable liner.. everything else is stiched into the outer shell.

So RAD went from wearable to stitched then huh? I know the 11'-13' RADs had the liner like the Shredtowns. That is too bad if they changed it. I like them that way (own 12' and 13' RADS)

That surf expo brochure confirms it! Camber? Lol
"Bandwagon: Ride this board 5cm shorter than you would a traditional board. Camber: Reinvent the way you ride a wakeboard. Camber: Jump on the bandwagon. Camber: Ride higher on the water. Camber: Ride in the most neutrally balanced position. Camber: Developed by Parks Bonifay, Shota Tezuka, Erik Ruck, Marc Rossiter and Mike Ferraro Camber: Two years to perfect but 1,000 'Sorry's' for not thinking of this patented technology sooner. Camber: Coming to a waterway near you in multiple models."
So I weigh 180 and ride a 139...These things must really, really ride high for them to ask me to drop down to a 134 lol

Being able to ride a smaller board with the same amount of pop etc would be awesome. Swing weight and weight of board. Would be awesome!!!

Has the harley ever changed shape? I feel like the original in 2011 hasn't been altered at all...changing only the graphic isn't like a bad thing like don't fix it if it ain't broke...I just hope people going out to buy the new one know that they could get the same board for a lot less lol

the description of the CWB 'Merica sounds like CWB took some cues from the Byerly boards, Scott Bouchard, glass technology play-book. having the top glass connect to the bottom glass through the middle of the board and all.

Peak has a new shape, all wood core like mentioned. The old Peak shape is now the Deluxe Hybrid. Noticed the Melissa is basically the Super Trip. Raph's binding are odd, theyre made to look rustic so the material is supposed to have that cracked-look effect.

I love the 2013 Peak! Until testing the new material I'm not sure what I think about the new Peak. What are the pros and cons of an all wood core? (I'm a cable rider)

Hank,

Check out the picture of all the Ronix boards hanging a few posts up... look at the boards all the way to the left... it's subtle, but I think I can see there the \_/--\_/ is on the last board on the left. It's subtle, that's for sure... but knowing wake, it had to be.

I really want to see these up close... sounds pretty interesting. I bet they've got a pretty skatey feel.

What I found weird was that the camber boards don't come in numerical sizes anymore (136, 139, etc.) but come in Small, Standard, and Large although it says you can ride 4cm shorter.....
