I've come across a beautiful axis a20 for a good price. 20 feet is a little small but I have heard good things about these boats overall. If anyone has any thoughts about this boat as to whether we can surf it and how the wake is I would appreciate it.
Is it too small to surf?
Will the wake still be a great wakeboard wake?

setup details?
I love mine. Wake is huge for a 20 foot boat. It's super roomy given its size and driving it with no ballast is like driving a sports car. We've only surfed it a few times so we're still dialing it in, but initial impressions is that it will do great on surfing right at 9.8-10.0 mph with just plug and play ballast.

I have a '12 A20 and love it! The wakeboarding wake is way more than I need and the surf wake is awesome, when weighted correctly it has no problem pushing my 240lb brother around all day.

The A20 wake is very nice. It's a bit wider than the A22 wake, so I ride 5ft in behind my friend's. In regard to the size of the boat, you're not going to find a roomier 20footer out there.

Wow sounds like everyone likes it. I may have to snatch it up as it is the only one for sale in my area.
Thanks everyone

I've had an A22 and now an A24. The storage under the seat is almost non-existent. That was my only complaint about my A22, couldn't imagine how little the A20 would be to store things.

Storage doesn't concern me, if there is place to put the bevies and place for the boards all is good.

No underseat cooler so your cooler will be taking up about 20-25% of the floor space

soft axis cooler fits perfectly under the seat behind the driver. not a huge cooler but it works great.

Very true but the liner rips in every one I've seen so if you replace it with an AO cooler of the same size you should be good.

Drop in cooler is an option. Can you post a pic of it?

I guess that was a 2014 add-on option to all Axis boats if it's indeed a drop in cooler and not just a soft side "Axis" logo cooler. I saw several dealers listing "drop in" coolers on the A20 but nine showed a pic. I know the A24 has a very nice size cooler but underseat storage is deep enough for a full size cooler.

yeah AJ is probably right, that thingg would melt ice in about 30 minutes in the heat of the summer. Also, many larger ballast bag options protrude into that area when they fill. The best option is to use the soft cooler or an upgraded AO Cooler in that spot.
The A24 is the only one that has an igloo cooler under a seat, and chances are the OP is not shopping for A24s if he is currently looking at a '12 A20. Silly topic to be honest.
