Fuel pump went out on 02 x-star this weekend. Removed it from tank and noticed kink in the outlet line. Thinking the restriction might have caused and over heating and then failure. Has anybody ever replaced just the pump for $100 or should I replace the entire module for $400. Does anybody know what the material is of the fuel line inside the tank. Thank you for your advice and tips.

thanx guys, you're great. I'll go back to NAPA today. I'll keep you posted on the results. Did you change the outlet line while you were in there. Mine was sooo kinked I had to cut it off. Thanx again.
