Alright guys I'm looking at a couple boats and I need help.

The first is a 2002 Moomba Mobius LSV with 600hrs on it.
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/boa/1518189866.html

The only defect is a tear on the rear sun deck.

The second is a Mastercraft X5.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130352832289&viewitem= &sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AUS%3A1123

Both of them are priced at $15000

The only reason that I am considering the Mastercraft is because of resale. I want a V-Drive but for that price the mastercraft is looking nice. I don't know much about the X5 besides that it is a crossover boat.

Thanks,
Mark

Mobuis LSV all the way. It looks like it is in better shape and you will get a better wake out of it. My 2 cents.

LSV for sure. V drive, good hull, good engine. The MS is a towered, blingy 205 dd. Weight will make up the difference, but then you have weight to walk over. Get the V drive now, you will be glad you did it now instead of buying it next year after you regret it.

If you were halfway serious about skiing and had small crews the X5 might be the right fit, but the functionality of the v-drive would trump the prestige and quality of a MC if you were shooting for a pure wakeboat. Both look like pretty good buys that need some minor TLC.

I've got the direct drive version of that Mob. Nice boat. The quality isn't "quite" there with the MC/Bu's etc in the 02/03 model years - but great boats for the money. I like mine.

I'm way more of a wakeboarder then a skier and we normally have a decent amount of people in the boat so I'm thinking Moomba.

Dude I love MC but the LSV is going to be a much better wakeboard boat. The X-5 is based off of a ProStar 190 running surface which is a ski boat. I've boarded it quite a bit and its ok but def more of a ski boat.

I had a 2001 Mobius DD for two years. It was a good boat for the money. Definitely get the LSV, if mine would have been a v-drive I would still have it. I sold it and got a 01 Malibu VLX this year. I would have been interested in this one for sure. Good luck.

LSV, for sure. It's a solid wakeboarding boat. Plus, like Corey said, the MC doesn't have much of a wake at all.

Anybody know what the wake is like behind the LSV?

Wake gets big when you add the 400lb Vdrive sacs in the rear and 200lb under the front seats. Wakeplate set at 15-25% and you will be going for a ride. Its a very lippy wake.

Congrats Mark.

I was writing back and forth with Heather about it as well but knew that you were hot on the trail and I would have been buying as a flip so I figured I'd give you first crack.

Glad you got it. You'll love it. I have the same boat in a direct drive. Good stuff.

Thanks Jeff, I plan on running it for a couple summers and upgrading. It should be a good first boat.

LSV. Don't buy an inferior boat just because of the name. Resale? I bet that X5 had a higher selling price when it was new then the LSV and look where it is now. You will have a far easier time selling and V-drive then a direct drive too. Glad you got the LSV. congrats.
