In my opinion, forget about the wetsuit and go for the drysuit.

misread the above.... my suit is a full dry-suit -- definitely wouldn't waste the $$ on a wetsuit...

Man if it's not freezing suck it up and rubber up! But I must admidt dry suits are pretty nice. As for a wetsuit, you have options, standard 2/3mm shorty or full will suffice. You can get a thicker suit though.

Ya I am in Gainesville FL, while the water is cold it isint that bad. I think a wet suit would work, but how restrictive is a dry suit vs a wet suit?

Agree with Troy. The drysuit will allow much more flexibility. In my opinion, the worst thing about the wetsuit is having to put on a wet, cold suit for your second and third run.

"the worst thing about the wetsuit is having to put on a wet, cold suit for your second and third run" Leave it on, a compfortable wetsuit can be worn for hrs. IMHO Drysuits are too expensive, restrictive, and you look like an astronaut.

Hmmm.... I would much rather be nice and warm in dry clothes in the boat rather than sitting in a wetsuit. To each their own, though.

i used to leave my wetsuit on all day.. then this one time i got jock itch.. lol.. the doc told me it was pretty common and not a good idea to keep that area of the body warm with all that moisture around all day.. kinda like athletes foot.. needless to say the ol drysuit is the only way to go learn from my mistakes young grasshopper

i like to pee on myself as much as the next guy, but being warm and dry after my run outweighs the ability to soil myself, so when air is less than 70, it's drysuit all the way for me.

Drysuit all the way. A drysuit keeps the nasty water that some of us ride in off most of the skin. That's one benefit of riding in the cold. A tee shirt, sweat pants and a drysuit is the only way to go when it gets too cold to go in shorts. I sometimes just wear shorts and a tee shirt under the drysuit. You can get hot inside of them.
