state is a three stage. i think the motive is continuous. depends on your riding i suppose. my friend got the state early this year and loves it.

I learned on a Motive 140. It's a friendly, forgiving board. Now I ride an Era 140, which feels to me like everything I liked about the Motive 140 only more so. I know a lot of people start with a Motive 140 so it's a good choice. The most important thing is to just get out there and ride.

I liek the board..but since i have been wakeskating I seem to have picked up wakeboarding quick..I got W2W on my first day..so I just wnat to make sure I can have a board that is forgiving but also has a good pop for some more air

go LF they have the same (i think better quality - especially bindings)but they sell for less.I would recommend the LF evo - i learned on that. For bindings i would recommend alphas or sphynxs.

dont overlook the motive board too much. it was murray's old pro model back in the day, and several riders have ridden it recently on the pro tour.

dont buy into the state board. if you can feel a difference in the toeside and heelside cutting or if you like the pop better from the state board then great, buy it. but if you dont feel the difference between the two i'd go with the motive. its a proven shape.

Or for the same price get a softened up Absolute with hinge tech boots from CWB.

Seems to me to be a no-brainer.

Well i woudl disagree about the state having pop. I am ot technical enough to tell you why but I found that i got crappy air and very harsh landing on a my state. As a matter of fact I gave it away. I rode a bunch of boards after the state and ended up with a LF team.
Some of the 3 stage boards like the parks and others gave me better air but with 35 year old knees i realy liked the butter soft landings out in the flats of the team.
