Its getting close to school starting and that means the college wake teams are starting to gear up for the upcoming season. USA Wakeboard and the Collegiate Wake Series are both getting ready for their season.

But maybe you are in Texas or Mississippi and don't really have the money to jump into a national series. If so check out the Louisiana Collegiate Wake Tour. We have 4 tour stops through out the year that take place across the state of Louisiana. Points carry over from tour stop to tour stop much like the pro tour. But its set up in a team style format. The tour is a cheap way to get out there and compete or even just give your team a chance to get a little practice in before a regional. Entry fees are 100 dollars per team for the whole year (all 4 stops) and 10 dollars a person at each stop.

Check out http://www.lacollegiatewaketour.com/

The site is a work in progress but its coming around. We have tour stops on September 24th and October 22. Check back for more info soon!

We have just recently nailed down the tour dates for the 2 spring stops. Again any team is from anywhere is welcome to come compete.

The first stop of the spring will take place on March 31st at Bennett's Ski School in Baton Rouge. Hosted by the LSU Tigers, this will be one of the best contest of the season. Bennett's is always a great host and they have it down to a art after hosting the collegiate water ski nationals in the fall. LSU has 80 members and sure to throw down behind the great riding of Zach Sheets and freshman Nick Vacarri.

The final tour stop of the season will be on April 22nd, on campus at the University of Louisiana Monroe. With the beautiful bayou desiard running thru campus it will promise to be great turnout to watch everyone battle it out for not only tour stop winner but also overall tour champion. The defending tour champion Warhawk Wake Team will be hosting the final stop again this year and is lead by open rider Cody Townsend and team president Joel Barfield. Also ULM's girls riders come to play with ULM taking all 3 podium postions in the girls division in the Lafayette tour stop.

The awards vvill be done for the final stop at a local bar in Monroe with a after party featuring a live band. Also the winning team of the tour stop will be awarded a large cash money prize.

The current team rankings:

1st Place: ULM with a score of 2520

2nd Place: LSU with a score of 2405

3rd Place: ULL with a score of 1922.5

4th Place: La Tech with a score of 1902.5

Come out and watch the 4 teams fight for the title of Tour Champion in the last 2 stops.

LSU - March 31st

ULM - April 22nd
