Extended Warranties Mercruiser vs FPC Marine

I am considering an extended warranty on a 2008 Mercruiser Scorpion 5.7 engine on a Centurion Enzo. Since an extended warranty is only as good as the first time you use it does anyone have experience with them? I suspect Mercruiser covers just the engine and FPC covers more but may cost a lot more too.

I am wondering if they honor/dispute claims and if it is a hassle to get them to cover things. I know SurfDad had an engine replaced not sure if that was via an extended warranty or original boat warranty.
