Should there be a washer between prop nut and propeller on an inboard boat. Mine does not have one, should it?

No washer. Your shaft has a taper and the prop is troqued home on the taper. If you have one of the newer MasterCrafts, there is no keyway. It is splined. You will have a nylon-insert nut and a cotter pin to hold the prop on.
