Ok, looking at the Fly High side sacs. They are 250 pounds each and the dimensions are perfect for my application. I have a stupid question about filling and emptying them. The 2 connections on top I assume are for filling and vent. The drain is the lower connection. When I go to drain them, do I connect the pump to the bottom connection? What keeps the water from flowing out?

Nope, you can connect the pump to the top to empty. All three of the holes in the sac are threaded. In the package there are two plugs and one adapter with the Fly High quick connect. You can choose which to put where based on your application. When emptying, just put the pump onto the quick connect on the sac. You might have to push down on the pump to get it to start sucking water, but it will usually just start going.

So the bottom drain is just redundant? They can be filled and drained from the same plug on top?

The bottom is used to drain if you are plumbing for an automatic system. If you are filling manual, just use the same port to fill and empty. When you start to empty, just push it down so the pump is sucking water and not air.

Another question about brands and pumps. Which are the pros and cons of the fly high tsunami vs. the Sl uber pump? Is one better or easier to use than the other?

Could either go with Fly high or SL sacs, but wondering about the pumps.

thanks

I assume you mean the Launch Pad Uber pump???

I have had a couple of the Uber pumps and both have had the same issue after about 6 months of use. The wire inside the power adapter plug corrodes and breaks (easy to replace with a new adapter or some solder) and the wire at the connection to the pump itself comes loose (more of a pain).

the pump itself is pretty solid - I forgot I had one in the water and ran over it. After some extensive electrical tape bandaids over the gashes it still works.

I haven't used Fly High pumps before.

My buddy just got two of the uber pumps and the both had/got a short in them on their first and second use. The killer part was it was after the sacks were nearly full or already full so draining them was a real joy. On the flip I have used mine (tsunami) hundreds of times and have never had a problem.
