Hi guys,

I am contemplating buying a boat, mainly for surfing and a bit for slalom (like 10% of the time).
In France (where i live!, seems to have good opportunities with the following boats. Of course not the same price, but both good deals. So really considering both and just trying to figure out which one will have the best surf wave. Ideally, I rather not work on adding balast, so looking for the best current set up btw both

1/ 2015 Sport Nautique 200 with 1200lbs of ballast (60% factory, 40% extra)
2/ 2010 Tigé Z1 with 2100lbs of ballast (not stock)

Do you guys have an idea which one would be the best? i am afraid the Sport 200 would be too much slalom oriented. I like the new features on it, and maybe the 5 years difference made it more performing on the surf wave than the Z1 that seems more surf oriented to start with.

Thanks a lot for your help!
Maxime

Wow, I'm starting to feel like i'm being baited on these Tige comparisons. I haven't had much experience with the SN 200 so I honestly can't contribute too much there. As for the 2010 Tige, The interior, both bow and behind the windshield, lack cut outs in the gunnels. This is an area that in any other boat contains multiple cup holders and in practice many other things. Not having cut outs made the boat feel EXTRA EXTRA small to me.

Thanks for your answer! very good points raised!
Do you know how good is the surf wave on that boat with 2000lbs balast?

It does has a good surf wave, on both sides. Because of the deep V that runs all the way to the transom and taps, you can get a LOT of lean out of the boat.

The Nautique will be better for Slalom skiing and the Tige will be better for surfing. I have a 09 Tige 22ve and the wave is great running almost 1700lbs of ballast on the port side. A Z1 wouldn't be far off.
