I don't know the weight but I got marine backed olefin (sp?) carpet from Lowes based on numerous online recomendations. It wasn't quite as plush as the OEM Mastercraft carpet it replaced but it was plusher and a lot cheaper than the official bunk carpet rolls that places like West Marine and academy sell. It seemed to be about the same weight as the OEM carpet on my neighbor's Nautique trailer so I'm sure it will hold up well.
Lowes does have marine carpet that looks to be the same weight as the OEM MC stuff but it's special order and more expensive. There was a display board with samples of the special order stuff.
Surprisingly I was at home depot this weekend and they had the stuff your talking about(at lowes) in stock. In black at least. I bought enough to recarpet my pylons this winter. $9
Thanks, I'll head over to Lowe's and Home D. this weekend. I never thought to look there. IMHO, the bunk carpet is a bit overpriced. I can buy a lot of carpet fof $40.
Yeah I just redid 4 bunks a 2 guides on my trailer with a $20 roll of carpet from Lowes. It was dark grey in color and looks way better than the beat up bunks it replaced. New wood about $20 too.
