I swiped this from FB. Who's headed to Parker? How is everyone dealing with that crushing heat? Is there some trick to not sweating like a stuck pig in that 100+ degree air temperatue?

unfortunatley I won't be makin it! Bummer! Should be a blast! maybe next year! As far as the heat goes, sink your lawn chair on the shore if possible with only your head above water! This is the way I do it! Make sure you wear your hat, or you'll end up looking like a red cherry tomato!

My wife and I are going along with DonB plan to arrive on Wed night. Already getting a boat lined up to use may have to figure out how to bring some fly high sacks in an extra suitcase. Looking forward to Margaritas in the Cantina.

Do you fly in to Phoenix and then drive up to Parker or is there a better way to get there?

The drive from Phoenix is easy but boring. Made the trip last year with wife and daughter and doing same this year. The downside of competing is the lake of boat time. You ride either once or twice up and down the course and your done. Would love to join someone in their boat and chip in for gas.

SD. This is how we control the population in AZ. Otherwise, the Snowbirds would never fly north

I fly out of seattle wednesday moring early and land in phoenix around 9am. Only hard part is my ride fell through so i am not quite sure how i will be getting out to parker just yet. I am so excited to go down. Really the heat is not that bad. Drink water and dont wear a shirt and you will be fine.

It is only roughly 10miles further from Vegas than it is from Phoenix and we were able to get a cheaper rate to Vegas. Lots of speed traps in Arizona so be careful.
