I set myself up for that one - anyway I been using pretty cheap board racks - and I have Air Boom Surf Racks which I like but they are huge and wanted to get some of the WW user opinions

I have the higher end model wakeboard racks from www.lightningaccessories.com and they have worked out great.

I personally have lightning racks on my boat and I HATE them. The center finger is to narrow so when you are in chop the boards hit each other. On that note I do like the Nice Racks for that reason. Seems like a solid product. I do plan on a purchase in the future. Swivel of course.

Cory, is the center finger just narrow or does it widen at the tip? Mine is about 1.5 inched thick then entire finger.

I have some great monster - xtp oa360 racks for sale for about half the price you can buy anywhere. These racks are very strong and dependable best i have ever used. Bought a new boat so it already has racks. If your interested let me know.

David-
Are your Skylon racks the bungee-less kind? How long have you had them and how are they holding up?
Thanks

My skylon's aren't the bungee-less kind. They have bungees but work well. I've had them for about 2 years and they still are working well. The rubber inserts are in good shape.

I have used the Skylon "S" rack and really didn't care for it at all. The bungees broke and I really don't like the universal clamp. I have used the Wakeair racks in the past and loved them, but you can't buy them anymore and they do not mount in any angle (45 degree increments). What about the bullitlines.com racks, they are very afordable and look very similar to the wakeair racks? - Thanks

From my understanding, those racks have only been on the market for a little bit. I know that the ropes and handles that I got from them worked well but don't know about the racks.

I've got them on my 08 Malibu VLX and I LOVE THEM! I've driven them through the biggest of double-ups and the boards WILL NOT touch or rattle. They've got a cool design as well so it adds a touch of style to your tower.

Use this code to get an extra 20% off. (LD20XQ109)

Greg, I do work, play, ride & live for LD. I saw TQ looking for some board-storage so I thought I'd introduce our Sun Racks.

I appreciate the feedback Rich. We're stoked on this one. We feel like this is our best rack yet.

The new LD racks look pretty sick.. I have 2 on my boat. I had a warranty issue with their old racks and they replaced them with the new models free of charge within 2 days. Great customer service!

do they swivel? any suggestions on swivel racks?

No swivel on the LD racks.. I'd go with the Titans if I wanted to spend the money for the swivels..

Solid new rack we've designed, and you may see it soon as a factory pivot rack for some of our customers...

Elliot be careful with advertising, I understand where your coming from but Dave is getting real fed up with people advertising their own product for free.

But anyways those look pretty sick could they be easily mounted on a wall? I am currently lookin for some to mount in my garage.

Mike, I have to be honest. MC makes an incredible rack. I'm sure you saw them in the "Best Of" section in WBM. Truly, they have the people's vote when it comes to racks. Who knows, maybe one day LD will do something on that scale. As for now, we're sticking to what we've got.

Twitch, thanks for the heads-up. Dave is such a wonderful guy and we appreciate what he does [everyday] for the industry with WakeWorld. This is definitely the online voice of the wake industry and we would never take that for granted.

I simply saw the thread, "WHO MAKES THE BEST RACK" and naturally I felt I had to chime in. Forgive me, we're just excited about our new design and I figured I'd better speak up.

To answer your question, we don't have a specific wall-mount but for now I'd suggest a simple illusion-x spacer. You could get creative with it and a few 2x4s pretty quick, and you'd have garage-worthy storage in no time.

I'm hearing some good things about the ViperCustoms swivel racks. Have been in contact with the owner, Jim, and am awaiting some pics, but from talking with him the product and price sound very good.

viper customs racks are great i went down and looked at them the other day and are putting them on my boat next week. they are very well made and for swivel racks you cant beat the price or the quality. If you dont get pics let me know and ill go get you some.

Hey man I dont blame you for being excited I would be too! So no worries just thought I'd warn you.

So you're saying they could be attached to some 2x4's?
Old     (elliottdollar)      Join Date: Dec 2007       01-29-2009, 6:46 AM Reply
Twitch, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Malibu mounting application on the Illusion-X or XS towers but they basically run an 1.5" bolt through the tower & it screws into the back of the rack. We include a small aluminum spacer that separates the rack from the tower and it also keeps the rack from rotating. I'm not sure how your garage is set-up but I was imagining that you could simply run the bolt through a 2x4 and use the spacer just like you would on a Malibu. You'll then probably want to mount the 2x4 somewhere convenient in your garage.

You'd have to do some configuring but it wouldn't be very difficult. Let me know if you need more information and I'd be happy to help you figure it out.
