I am looking to get tower light, but have no idea what is good or bad. I have only seen up to 55w. is there some that put out more light than others? Anyone have some helpful hints about what has or has not worked for you guys???

Thanks,

WakeSk8r

I replaced my 55 w light for a xenon set in the mastercraft speakers. It was a complete set and the ballast fits in the tower speaker. Its only 35 watt but i think there is at least 200% more light.
I'm now working with my rear light bar.Maybe i can fit the sets inside the bar and the ballast in the inside speakers.

I don't know wich docking lights you use but in the moomba's and supra's are normal 12 v 50 watt lights wich you use in a livingroom .There are no xenon kids for.
The normal kids are h1 h3 h4 h7 etc etc.
I used a pilot kid h3 for the towerlight. The normal price is about 70 dollar.

These are the ticket if you're looking for HID tower lights. I've had 4 of them on my tower for 2 years now without any issues, they are bright as hell. I'm sure a clamp install would be easy to do.

I'm sure you can adapt them to tower clamps by tapping and threading one.

I switched to HID lights about 4 years ago, definately the way to go. I already had a titan light bar on my boat and just swapped out te 55w halogen bulbs for the hid ( H3) lights. they barely fit in the housing ( HID bulbs are longer) and had to deal with mounting the external ballast. You can find the ones bakes sells online for much cheaper. Having an internal ballast is nice. check out vision x led light bars too.

Well here is my ugly! They light up the night so so so well. Function over fashion I had some expensive HID lights but these kill them for brightness.

Sander De Jong where did you purchase the lights you used to upgrade your Mastercrafts lights?

TrailTech has many options and they are less expensive. I think they are the same as the Bake's lights.

I bought them locally in my area.I live in the netherlands so i don't no where you can by them.
I know put the hid set in the rear light bar. That gives a lot off light.
i will putt some photo's off it later tomorrow.

I had the 55 watt halogen bulbs last summer. I am going with new Vision X XIL-SP140 Solstice Solo Prime Black 2" LED lights this year because they are a lot brighter at a fraction of the power usage.

You are right Dave.I think we are the only company with two off those in hour shop.
One with the diesels and one with 2 mcx engines. They take a lot of room but it looks great.

Brett, what lights are those on the g3? I've been wanting to add some lights. Also, what clamps and bar?

I've got some very low profile LED docking lights on my tower, about 6 inches wide and 1 inch tall, and they can rotate forward and backward. Brighter than any docking lights I've ever seen. I'll post some pics up.
