My buddy nailed a log yesterday and we dont feel like taking it to a shop. I am very mechanically inclined. I tried to search to find a DIY but nothing. Anybody have any advise?

All you need is the right tools. Get a prop puller and it will come off very easy, make sure to leave the nut on a couple of turns, the prop comes off with a big pop when it finally gives. Keep an eye out for the key (?) that is the metal piece that goes between the shaft and the prop, it's going to be about 2" long and a 1/8" thick square. You can also call a shop and they will probably offer to pull it real quick and you tell them your going to put the new prop on. This is where you will know the difference from a shop that is out to help with great customer service or make money!

A gear puller works pretty well too. You can usually rent one from the auto parts store.

Make sure the new prop is seated all the way up the taper on the propshaft or you could have a vibration after installation.
