JL 12w6v2 sealed or ported?

So I've got two of these in the boat in 1.25 cu ft sealed boxes. I'm just wanting a little more output out of them if I can get it. For all you installers out there how will they sound in slot ported boxes built to JL spec, 1.5 or 1.75 cu ft in the boat environment? If I won't gain anything I won't bother with the expense of the slot ported boxes. They are being pushed by a JL 1000/1.

You will gain output at the ported frequency and it should be very noticable....I like ported enclosures on boats as it's better to have too much and turn the amp down then to run the system hard all the time.

nu bu, build the ported box, it's night and day difference. If you don't wanna mess with the slotted port check out precision ports ( flanged ports) it makes tunning very easy.
