I ran about 800 lbs in my 94 205 for like 5 yrs with no problems at all. Most of it was lead & pig iron (big ship ballast), cut to fit in small spaces, wrapped in plastic & carpeted.

250 lbs behind the rear seat
125 lbs under the gunnels on each side
100 lbs in the bow
200 lbs sack in the ski locker

The DD does. And they only made the DD in 1994.

I had a 95 or a 96
I had a sac in the floor locker and one under or in place of the back seat
seems like someone on here built a box or tank that replaced the rear seat, but you could also sit on it

I have a '99 Prostar 205 DD and it has a ski locker. I run about 500 pounds in the nose and 600 or so in the rear hatch and it throws a good everyday wake.

Last year we were sacking it out a bit more with 1000 in the back 900 in the bow and about 300 in the middle. Thats with 5 people also. At 85' and 25mph thats a mackin wake.

I have a 97 205DD, I dont see a ski locker anywhere? Theres the motorbox, in front of that is a built in cooler and thats it as far as under the floor.

Bill K - My 1992 205 DD and its ski locker would beg to differ with you.

Heres how I run mine (same hull as the 94):

I have a 540 sac on each side of teh engine box, as far back as they go. If I have people up front Ill squeeze the 540 sack in the ski locker and probably only fill about 200 pounds in it. If theres nobody riding up front, Ill throw the 540 in the walk through and fill her up. Careful not to have too much weight up front as the wakes lose their peakiness and the bow goes under a lot.

Not sure what you mean by they only made the DD in 1994. In fact, the 205 was ONLY available in DD until 99 when the 205V came out.

They got rid of the ski locker starting in 1996.

Guess thats why mine dont have it. Why do u think they would do that, theres hardly any storage in that boat as it is.

The ski locker dosnt really count as storage anyway. It fits one slalom ski and thats it. Its only 8 inches wide, and maybe 6 or 7 inches deep. Very tiny.

I'm not sure where your differing, Tony.

I had 200 lbs in the locker & 100 in the bow? Are you saying that is not possible?
I'd be willing to say your right if you don't have any other weight in the boat. but I had another 500 lbs between the gas tank & the rear seat & under the gunnels. Not to mention any passengers typically ride behind the windshield.

BTW, I think the locker goes clear up into the bow area too. I used to lose stuff up there occasionally.

I have a 1000# fat seat in place of back seat and 600# sack in the bow, the wake is very nice when filled!

I was just saying that I had a 92 with a ski locker. And that they made all the first gen 205's from 92 - 95 with one. And they were all DDs. Those weights seem about right to me.

I have a 2000 205 and it has a ski locker in it. We run 400 lb in it and another 400 in the rear plus rides works OK for us.

By the way, I run my 97 with pretty much the same set up as SJ.

ive had a 94 205 for 10 years. i run mine about the same as sj and dg. about 1000 in the back and 400-600 in the front. i prefer to use the fat seat, but sometimes i just run 2 400lbs sacks next to the engine as far back as i can. also the ski locker is really long. back in the day i used waterbed liners in there, u can easily get 200+lbs in there. im running lead in the locker and front now, which was a great investment!
