I'm liking it!! Still need to test that & the Marius plat, sticking to the Zeus's this year. Bates' demo gear keeps getting "lost".

did you trade in the foam core for the platty?
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-18-2006, 11:11 AM Reply
I stole his foam core. I like the graphics better. LOL.

Nice setup. I like your softening of the hard core wakeboarding image with the kids' stuff in the pics! That board looks awesome.

hahaha Even. I'm with you on that one. Are you rocking the Fuse this year too?

BTW - I should have probably put a j/k end of my last post. Bates' demo stuff usually out being tested by someone (probably his dogs).

Eubanks....you should see my truck on dirtbike trips!

Last month we took a trip to pismo where I hauled bikes, firewood, etc...but most of the bed space (long bed at that) was occupied by the Baby Einstein, swing, Jumparoo, playpin, etc...

Quite a sight!

J-Rod, did you notice a subtle difference in the mold? I was told that the top sheet stuff in Platinum's is so stiff they had to tweak the molds for the Transcend and the Marius Plats to get the stuff wrapped around the corners. I still haven't gotten a chance to ride the new decks/boots, sucks for me.

Jeff, we'll be down in force the 27th.

Up.... I guess I stole Jarrods other deck too soon. My '07 Transcend and Fuse's just showed up Fed Ex. Call me stoked. I think I'll go ride.

Tyler, expand your horizons, you never know what kind of gem you might find.

So would you guys say the new Transcend shape is faster than the Absolute shape? In general how do they compare on all aspects?
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-19-2006, 9:30 AM Reply
Hey Stephan, I challange anyone to not fall in love with the new Transcend. I've never ridden a board that did everything right before. It's got more pop than the Absolute, tracks up the wake better, lands smoother. It's an amazing board. You've gotta try it. It's such an amazingly smooth pop. You go straight up, or if you charge it you go straight up and straight out. Obviously if you couldn't tell, I'm in love with that board. I just wish it wasn't almost winter time.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-19-2006, 9:32 AM Reply
Oh, and BTW, I think it's at least as fast, if not faster. On landings it never feels like it has any drag like the Absolute did. I used to feel like the Absolute would land and put on the brakes if I landed too far forward. Approach to the wake it's got better edge hold and feels at least as fast.

id like to get my hands on that board... how much are they gona be selling for?

im feeling it cant ya tell!

im tired of all the hype! im ready to see if they live up to it or not

i was checking out garys new transcend a few weeks ago and it did look like a pretty killer board...
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-19-2006, 3:53 PM Reply
Not sure Coop, but I'd bet around $350 for the regular core and $450 for the Platinum. That would be my guess for the boat show special price. I think retail is around $450 for the regular and $600ish for platinum. I've never met anyone that actually paid near that, though....

Either that or we'll have them to demo at spring ride again next year.

I need to try that board again, I liked it but felt like when it broke loose and caught an attitude, but I only give it a quick two minute and it was right after I had broke a lute. I was a bit frustrated and unable to enjoy my ride with it.

Evan,
Have you set a date for the spring ride ?

Richard,
If You decide to buy give Ant bug a try at Ultimate.

The board looks really cool. How does it ride?
I like the idea of the shortened fins. Seems like a lot of the molded fin boards have too much fin and you can't just go out and get smaller ones.
Is it pretty squirrely without the add on fin?
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-23-2006, 8:18 AM Reply
Walt, yes..... but it's still a bit tentative. We'll post as soon as it's in stone.

Rides great. I don't find it loose at all without the extension. I haven't tried it with the fins in, so I'm not sure how it rides that way.
Old     (rideit4life)      Join Date: Dec 2005       10-23-2006, 10:33 AM Reply
Nice new set-up JRod. You'll be happy to know i'm conforming to CWB. The 06' Sapphire with the 07' all white Limited Edition Factions. That's what i'm looking at.
Old     (toesideturtle)      Join Date: Oct 2002       10-23-2006, 12:08 PM Reply
Evan, are you riding with the small fin or finless? I rode the '05 Absolute platy--06 Transcend platy---I got to demo the 07 Transcend and I was instantly sold! For me, it was the best of both boards--everything I could ever want. I would say this is the best board I've ever ridden. Mine should be here this week--anyone out @ Buena Vista wants to check it out, give me a shout.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       10-23-2006, 12:20 PM Reply
I actually would say the Transcend without fins IS very loose by most peoples standards. It's great for me, but I love loose boards. If you were coming from something like a Premier or a Substance, you might find the board a little to loose. The molded fins are VERY short.

Removing the fin extensions makes the transcend release from the wake a little earlier I guess.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-23-2006, 1:25 PM Reply
Chuck, I've been riding it finless. I got the non-plat, so my board only came with the long fins which I promptly took off before every riding it.
Old     (bailey)      Join Date: May 2001       10-23-2006, 3:31 PM Reply
I have been riding an old absolute without any extra fins. I also rode the Marius with out the extra fins. How does it compare with the marius.
Thanks
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-23-2006, 3:40 PM Reply
I'd say that if you can ride the Marius finless, then you can definitely ride the Transcend without the extensions.

I think the Transcend has more pop than the Marius and holds an edge up the wake better. Otherwise, I'd say the speed and landings are similar.

J-rod how do you like the fuses? Do they have alot of ankle support? How do they compare to the Zues as far as support and comfort(if you have tried the Zues)?
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       10-24-2006, 8:04 AM Reply
The fuses are very stiff! I can't compare to the 07 Zeus because I haven't tried a pair yet. But, I am expecting the Fuses to be much stiffer. Zues' have never been a stiff boot. I switched to Fuses last year for ankle support.
Old     (duffy)      Join Date: Feb 2006       10-24-2006, 8:30 AM Reply
Thanks bro thats all I needed to know..I need ankle support.
Old     (stephan)      Join Date: Nov 2002       10-24-2006, 9:10 AM Reply
Man I thought the 06 Zeus was super stiff. I have a messed up ankle as well but I like a little more flexibility. I'm thinking the 07 Deuce is the way I'll go. I dig the forward lean and the tweakability, takes me back to the 04 Zeus.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       10-24-2006, 9:18 AM Reply
2003/2004 Zeus' where ome of the best boots ever made! I had to give those up after the second ankle tragedy.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       10-25-2006, 2:24 PM Reply
IMO the '07 Deuce's just didn't have enough ankle support for me. I love the way they look and they are super comfy, but I like the more substantial feel of the Fuse's.

I do agree, though. The Deuces feel like the old Zeus, but I think they are the most like the '05 Zeus. Slightly softer than the early ones.
Old     (waketac)      Join Date: Apr 2002       10-25-2006, 11:41 PM Reply
Got the 2006 Deuce after breaking the last pair of 2004 Zeus/Boss mix that I could get parts for in size L.
2006 Deuce is the first binding that I like as much as the 2003/04 Zeus or even better.
I tried 2006 Zeus and 2007 Faction, to me no comparisson.
So if You liked the old Zeus go for the new deuce.

J-Rod, what are some of your opinions on the 07' Factions? I'm looking to get those at the moment. A few guys on the Sac State Wakeboard team have toldme that they're pretty comfortable. Anything else to add to that? Let me know.
Old     (jarrod)      Join Date: May 2003       10-26-2006, 4:59 PM Reply
The factions are soft and comfortable. I haven't ridden them yet, but I know they are very flexible. I prefer a stiff boot, but that's only becuase I have old, busted up ankles.
Old     (duffy)      Join Date: Feb 2006       10-27-2006, 5:26 AM Reply
I am a size 10 and I went with the large in the 06 Zues and my heel was moving to much. I exchanged them for medium and bro they really are tight. I like being locked in ,but how long does it take to break these things in? My set's are really short because my foot starts cramping.

Well, I had to post my new ride along with the old one, the original Absolute. By the way, to be honest the only reason I was rockin' the old school pro sucks is that my Parks (they were 2002 also) finally gave up the ghost too and I was waiting to find a replacement pair. I got hooked up with CWB's limited life time warranty and got the Transcend at half the MSRP so I couldn't pass it up. I love ebay also, I got new 2006 Fuses for $175 delivered. I'm really looking forward to testing out the new ride.

Thats awesome right there. New deck for less than $200.

Those old Pro Sucs were the greatest bindings of their day. I wish I still had mine.
Old     (btr1)      Join Date: Feb 2002       10-30-2006, 5:07 AM Reply
I have to agree with you there. I got them right after my first blown ACL which occurred when one foot came out and the other didn't. I wanted to make sure I stayed in and the pro sucks were one of the first that I know of to have the ankle strap. Actually when I put them on again they felt better than any of the newer bindings I've had. If they had a thicker foot bed I would be using them still.
