Well I am getting a new knee in November. I was wondering if anyone on here has had it done, My question is are you still riding or is wakeboarding out of the question.

I'm a PT and would highly doubt you'd be able to ride, other than cruise, after a knee replacement. The acl and pcl are lost during the surgery so the only ligamentous support is mcl and lcl and proprioception of the joint is significantly lowered. Surfing may be your only option but if you get super strong quad strength it may be possible but a knee dislocation would be a scary possibility.

As of right now and for the last 2 years I have had no acl or pcl or menicus. I use a CTI brace. i occasionally will go W2W but 95% of the time i just do surface stuff. I was wondering if wearing a custom CTI would I still be able to ride.

I would highly recommend at least trying foiling (airchair). Don't knock it till you try it.

there is a bloke a few shacks down from us - he had both knees done 2 years back. Doesn't barefoot anymore, still slaloms (not as hard) surfs and boards from what I have seen - no huge tricks, just fun.

I have 9 pins and 3 bolts in my knee post a bone graft 15 odd years ago, at last clean-up dr said next time it hurts its a new knee - it aches more than hurts but I have avoided the new knee by not going to dr. I will be getting a brace this year to give myself another year or so.
