My wife and i are both beginner wakeboarders. We just upgraded from sharing an old shane board. My question is do we use the fin that come on our new boards or completely remove them? I know it's a little bit about personal preference , but which will help us progress faster and learn the fundamentals better?

She's got a ronix faith love and I got the ronix district.

On the shane board I always rode with the fins bc I didn't realize they were removable. I removed them last time and I think I actually like it. The board is alot 'sloppier', and might take a little getting used to. But it might be a good thing because it feels like non-perfect landings might be easier to recover from.

Also, do you just leave the holes in the board uncovered?

Generally boards that come with 4 removable fins, like your District, are made to be ridden with the fins left in. They are small enough so that you dont really notice them when in the neutral position but they lock in when on edge.
Boards that have moulded side fins, like the Faith Hope Love, generally have a removable centre fin that riders remove once they get more comfortable. Some people say remove them straight away but its really personal preference. On my old board it was too loose without the centre fin but too locked in with it so I put the fin on the bench grinder and made it about half the size. Now it is looser in neutral but still has good grip when I initiate a turn

I just got a ronix code 22 and will be leaving on the 1" fins it came with. Board seems pretty darn loose to me already with those fins. Last board I rode ronix parks air core I switched out the 1" for the .06" it came with and liked that.
Short story I say leave them on. And no worry about holes.

How are you liking the code vs the parks?

10x better! Code is way way faster than the parks board. Like I said in other threads the parks was a workout to ride, like dragging an anchor behind it. So much less effort to ride the Code. But the parks board was really really forgiving also. No worry on sketchy landings or take offs. Code takes some getting used to and I'm really excited to get to learn this board, lots of potential yet to unlock.
