Well there is no way in hell I can buy a boat so I was wondering about all the other things that you could score at awesome prices at a boat show? Is there lots of deals to be had or is it just sweet deals on boats?

I went to boat shows for years before I could afford a boat. Back in 1993 I got a steal on an I/O, had that one until last year. I feel your pain.

search for the dealers with '05 stock left over - that is where the deals are. getting extra's thrown in is easier than getting more $$ off the price. pose the question "if I buy this and that and this, what kind of deal can you make me?". If you are in a competitive show (more than one or two dealers) you will find someone eager to deal. you're not going to get a pro model board for a hundred bucks, but you can get off model year stuff for just about dealer cost.

as far as new '06 gear goes, many dealers off an additional "boat show discount" or their "lowest price of the year" before August deal to entice you to buy now. dealers will often times set something up on a layaway deal where you can lock in the price and pay it out over 90 days.

be cool, don't dick 'em around - this isn't an adversarial negotiation.

Just got back from the OKC boat show. There were tons of dealers. They had three different buildings and 10 dealers I think. I was wanting to see about scoring the Torq hinge bindings but non of the dealers really brought their pro shops.

Tons of sweet boats. I wish there was a Tige' and Sanger dealership in town. Oh well:-(

I know we have some smokin deals at the show. Many of the competitors were offering up some good stuff too. Just give your self some time to shop around.
