Thoughts and opinions? What's the wake like?

I would guess small, you would most likely need more weight then you would feel comfortable with to get a good wake.

I had a 2000 Moomba Outback. The wake is small, and the boat sits very low. If you add any ballast you will definitly take waves over the bow. Not a bad starter boat but there are probably better options.

Thanks, Just from the looks of the boat it looks to put off a small wake, and sit very low in the water. Just trying to get some other opinions in hopes that it was an illusion as it is a good deal.

I think "small" is relative to what it is being compared too. Small compared to a V-drive, 23ft boat, etc, Of course. Small compared to more comparable boats, it does the job.

I had the 05 Outback, same basic hull design I believe. The wake was small when compared to a big v-drive, but it was a decent wake ecpecially for us as beginners. For weight, I had 300lbs in the front and the 750lb sack under the rear seat. It worked pretty well, but you really had to keep a close eye on rollers. The bow would dip very easily.

Same. Should have 1200-1500 lbs in mine this summer. Aside from watching the nose - it's a respectable wake. Doesn't matter if it's a d-drive or v-drive. It's about the hull design and the amount of weight.

Good starter boat. We like ours.
