One for all, all for one??

I've just purchased a new MC X2 and I'm starting to get geared up for next summer - it's going to be a long winter! I've never wake surfed, nor have my young kids, so wanted to buy a board that would serve us all well to enter the sport. Once we get good, I can see buying a separate board for me and one for my kids. In the meantime, I picked up a Hyperlite Broadcast 5.4 from the marina I bought the boat from. I was told that this would be a great all around board for adults and kids to get started.

I'd love to hear from you guys as to whether I've made a good decision.
