Dennis! The Dennis sac broke! It was an incredibly fast way to empty it, but a tad messy and expensive! :-)

Here are some pics from a photo shoot we did for California Marine Sports with James. They were taken on Labor day but I just got them a couple days ago. James was KILLING it. It was my first time watching him and Dennis ride in person. The pic of James hitting the stalefish is so sick. Definitely my favorite trick to watch. And Dennis has a mean Back Lip

I first thought the "james" was JamesZ too. I thought we were going to see a surfoff between the two James of WW. The video of that would be great.

Surfdad,
How was the typhoon wave? I am thinking about buying a typhoon, just for the extra room.

Hey Duffy, I didn't attend that session, my James indicated that it was typical of a Centurion - the lip was rounded forward, so tough to boost. I think that can be cured with some additional weight. Jamesz's boat doesn't have a soft lip. :-)

James said he liked the transition it was nicely shaped. I guess that it also had that slippery face that the Enzo is known for. So surface rotations are easy. I've seen and heard that prop changes can affect that and also give more "push" to the back of the pocket.

James said is was a good wake, but he didn't rave about it. I think if the guys had a few more sessions they could make it a great wake.

Yeah I think my avy has a soft lip compared to my buddies tige 22v. But my wave has way way more push. Great shots, I can't wait for next season, mine ended yesterday when I pulled the boat out and winterized it. Thanks for all your help!

Great shots guys. The flu is ripping through here in Ohio and the weather has turned so the boat sits inside waiting for that last run--fingers crossed.

Mitch I also prefer the Avy over the Enzo. Surf dad your not the only ones still trunkin it, heres some pics from Tues. I added another 275 lbs. to the back on top of my 900lbs in the port side locker. You can see how far the rub rail is below the water. What do you think Jamesz should I get it a little lower? Seems like it lengthend the pocket and sharpened up the lip a little.Upload

By the way the only people in the boat is the driver, yes only one person besides myself. dangerous i know, and actually no one is driving during the photo shots. (on auto pilot) sometimes you gotta do what you have to, to surf when you dont have a third. there were only 2 other boats on the lake. Good weather runnin out up here in the PNW. so ya gotta take advantage, know what I mean?

@ dtw - I remember 68, but there was a breeze yesterday and it felt chilly. I'm pretty sure that Judy will be in full suit/dry suit for the rest of the year.

@ deepcove, that second picture of your son is great! It looks like you snapped it 1/1000th of a second before the spray off the nose hit him in the face! :-) bbbbrrrrrr.

@ gunz - be sure to post up!

@ bigobuck - yeah, it's still trunkin' weather until the wind picked up, then it was FREEZING. :-) We had air temps in the high 70's, I believe the thermometer said 78 and water temps in the high 60's. Wasn't bad if you didn't fall, but after soaking for a few minutes you started to feel it. We're getting close to the end of our trunkin' season.
Old     (sporkinator)      Join Date: Oct 2009       10-25-2009, 3:04 PM Reply
You can't judge water temps/comfort based upon pictures.

For example: Full suit when the water is in the high 60s and the air temp is in the 80s? "Freezing" when the wind picked up?

Those are individual opinions that don't jive with many other folks' experience.

Friday, Norcal:

82 ambient, 61 degree water, everyone on my boat trunking it and comfortable (I even had the bimini up for shade!).

A week ago Saturday, everyone was trunking it (low 80s ambient 61 degree water) but the other boat that was surfing in the area had everyone changing in and out of the same DRYSUIT.

-- I simply can't keep up!--

I agree.

I am also amazed that someone who is carrying around so much natural insulation claims to have been 'freezing" in such mild temps.

Maybe it's time to see a doctor?

LOL! We have so missed your toxic wit. Why all the identity changes, though? Do folks begin to ignore the attempts at provocation or does David boot the previous identity? Hilarious, whatever the reason. :-)

Yes, you are funny.

Stop being such a martyr about the water and air temps.

You're insulated much, much, much better than the average arctic seal and you're whining about 80 degree air temps and high 60 water temps?

Girlfriend, you need to man up already.

Maybe you can post a few more inane board building threads to warm yourself up...
