Steph Curry, hell, any player wants to be as far away from the warriors as possible. We have a disinterested owner, horrible management, and a senile coach who has lost the respect of its players. We had 7 healthy players last night against the Cavs. And one was playing his first game as a warrior. Our starting lineup: Curry, Ellis (who apparently wants to be traded), Anthony Morrow, Vlad Rad, and Mikki Moore. What a joke. The season is already over 10 games in. Nellie needs to be fired, but its not going to happen because he handpicked the GM and the owner is too cheap to eat his contract!

darrel, that's an interesting stat -- kobe being 1 for 6. I was going off his demeanor and him seeming to not want to engage -- kinda like Maverick in Top Gun. That many shots seems to tell a different story.

Gasol looked great in his season debut. Artest did well, too. And Kobe's only 1010 points from becoming the #1 scoring Laker of all time.

Wow, forgot how good gasol is. Lakers are huge in the paint and used the advantage to put a beat down on the Bulls.
Didnt realize before the game Kobe was that close to the logo.

I'm not sure why it's a surprise. West played 14 years, Kobe is in his 13th and West played in an era without the 3 point line.

Fun game to watch last night, Kobe had some sick highlight reels, the behind the glass are you kidding me?! Farmars lob to Brown for the dunk was awesome.

Lakers are scary with Gasol back in the mix

Lakers really need to play a good team soon, as good as they have looked its just Chicago and Thunder so far. Thunder took them to overtime at home w/o Gasol..w/ Gasol at Lakers it was over 1st qtr. Kobe's last 9 points in that qtr were all pretty spectacular ^^^.
Lakers are playing like world champs that want to repeat.
No AI siting, anyone? Would the Sixers call him back?

^ I loved that poll i saw, can't remember where though, that said 70% wouldn't want AI on their team even if it was for a good price. haha, what a slap in the face. I agree though,he is cancer for a team.
Old    murrayair            11-23-2009, 10:31 PM Reply
It's amazing how quickly his career declined. I mean, he hasn't been amazing since he left Philly, but in the last year he's gone from certain all-star to an afterthought.
Old     (bflat53212)      Join Date: Mar 2003       11-24-2009, 3:58 AM Reply
I still got to give AI props. He was an amazing, amazing player. To play in the era he did at the size he did, with the style he played, was amazing and really fun to watch. Personally, I would rather have a team move the ball, but he did play in the post-MJ era, which meant one-on-one play.

Interesting stats comparing the Logo vs. Kobe. Jerry West played in a total of 932 games, Kobe is right now at 961 with an average of 36.5 minutes/game. So starter or not, that's a lot of time on the court.

West shot 47.4% from the field and 81.4% FT.

Kobe is shooting 45.5% and 84% with a total of 1,209 3-pts made.

West was always my favorite Laker, probably always will be. Theres a reason they called him Mr. Clutch, he was.
I kinda feel bad for AI, but it was his talent, style of play and attitude that got him there and whats killin him now. Starbury was as bad or worse and got a ring..
Anyone else notice how bad things are in NY/NJ. Knicks and Nets are horrible, about the only way either has got a win is by playing each other. Must suck to be a NBA fan in NY these days.

Yeah Darrel, I feel bad for Net fans if they don't get Lebron since they totally imploded their team to clear cap space (maybe JayZ's got him locked in). Of course if they move to Brooklyn (which I don't see happening) their really going to be pissed.

I do think the move to get Harris was fantastic. Saves you a crap load of space and at this point in thier careers I would take Devin over Kidd. Devin is a playmaker, always has been, except when he was stuck behind Terry in Dallas.

Yeah that sucks! I spent about 3 months in Seattle back in the early 90's. Great town and that was a fun team to watch.

It's unfortunate because the team formerly known as the Sonics should be a fun team to watch grow up. They could be a very good team some day.

I know I would be pissed if Milwaukee lost the Bucks (sorry about that whole pilots/brewers thing), even though I don't live there anymore. The NBA is a great game in my opinion and I know I miss going to games on a regular basis (now living in Tampa).

I would be suprised if Lebron does not stay a Cav.
No doubt the Sonics should still be in Seattle! I'll check out that link when time allows.
Harris was the right move for the Nets yet i am impressed how well Kidd is still playing.
Tonight Lakers feast on the Knicks. Go Lakers!

I also think there is a strong probability of James remaining a Cav. I think there are several other teams he would like to play on, but the teams that can afford him are horrible and the teams that are good can't give him the money he wants. Obviously, Miami is the most obvious non-Cleveland choice for him, but even they can't give him the $20+ million per year he is certain to want. Cleveland gives him the best balance between talent and salary, but he'll never win a ring there.

Which Gasol? Whole lotta ugly in the NBA.

Sucks that Greg Oden went down, thought this might be the year he and Bynum would be on the court and competing at the same time. Both have been injury prone but if i was Portland fan i'd start getting concerned about the young center.
Lakers V. Jazz Tonight.

I have a feeling that Oden, like Grant Hill, will have career summed up by a lot of "What Ifs". What if he hadn't sustained 3 major injuries early in his career? What if he had been able to play 70 or 80 games in a row? What if he didn't look like he was 45 at age 23? It would be nice to see him stay healthy for a full season to see what he's really made of.

20-0 run by the Lakers, jeez. As far as non-Lakers teams go, I like the Jazz more than most, and they were putting up a good fight until the 4th. Up until then it looked like it could have gone down to the wire.

Kinda embarrassing 4th qtr for the Jazz and flat out dominating by the Lakers. I bet we see a diff 4th qtr team at Utah on Sunday, they're much better at home.
AI hasnt rescued Philly yet but Nets are on the rise w/ their 2nd win this year. Yeah thats the kind of team Lebron wants to be part of. Lebron should just do the right thing and sign w/ the Clippers. Bring back the kobe/Lebron puppets.

If you look around the league almost all 7-footers, besides Shaq, have trouble staying healthy. Every single year they have issues, this is probably something Portland fans will just have to learn to live with.

Totally mono-tone and no energy. This was when Walt Frazier did the color.

On our recent local Laker Games we have had HotRod Hundley as the color guy, I think he did play by play for the Jazz for the past 35 years. The play by play is Joel Meyers, knowledgeble broadcaster but too much of a "homer". On radio last week, Luke Walton did color for Mychael Thompson who was at his mothers funeral. Walton isnt as funny as his dad. We were so spoiled w/ Chick Hearn for so many years, so many great chickisms.."games in the refridgerator, the door is closed the eggs are cooling, butters gettin hard and the jellos jiggling!, and the traveling call..."bunny hop thru the pea patch"...

Tough to win on the road on the 2nd of a back to back. Esp when redd comes off the bench hot and the bucks bench puts up 50+.
I'll take 50% shooting anytime anywhere, it's not like everyone on the court knows who is taking the shot and when he is taking it. Well yeah they all do...and he did, again.

I would be surprised if there was anyone in the league today that has made as many game winners as Kobe. I mean, come on, if any player in the NBA today is going to inherit the "Mr. Clutch" title, it has to be him. There's no shooter you would rather have take the last shot.

lol...simmer down Laker fans

I'm really surprised the Bucks were even in that game. Not a very good game for the starters. Bogut and Mbah a Moute have only been back for a couple of games since the injuries derailed the Bucks yet again for the 2nd year in a row.

I thought Bell and Mbah a Moute did a pretty good job "containing" Kobe, kinda. But for a second year guy Mbah a Moute is a very solid defender.

Taylor, yeah I figured Laker fans would be complaining about the hometown annoucers last night. They were even annoying to me. Actually, McGlocklin is the annoying one. The dude was fired up about something.

The Bucks gave that one away at the end, should have won it in regulation and in OT. I know I'm going to get slammed for this and the Bucks had there chances to win, but come on! That blocking call was total bogus, but what do you expect when you're playing the Lakers. The refs are always going to give preference in calls to veterans over the young guys the Bucks have.

"I'm just surprised we're coming down to the wire with so many sub-par teams."

This team is better than you think or give them credit. Give them a chance to get back in shape after the injuries and this team is a very good rebounding and defensive team.
