I'm headed to Vegas for a few days next week. We have tickets to a couple of shows at night, but need ideas for daytime fun.

It's been years since I've been

Zip line and indoor roller coaster sound fun

Does anyone have any suggestions. I understand that it's pretty freaking hot.....hotter than Texas...

It has become very expensive.

I was there last July. I think it was $18 for a margarita. $35 for a bucket of 5 bud light limes. This was pool side at the Monte Carlo.

Fremont Street (Old Down Town) is fun. That is the zip line and the street is covered by the light canopy. They have 4 bands/ DJ areas. I hung out in front of the band playing the 80's heavy metal all night. Drinks are way cheaper in the old down town.

It is not too far of a trip to the Hoover Damn for site seeing.

It seemed that people either stayed inside and gambled, slept all day from partying all night or they stayed by the pool at the casino during the day.

Gold and Silver Pawn Shop is on the Blvd. You could go pick on Chumlee. Counts Customs is kinda behind Circus Circus.

If you are up at the Fashion Show mall across from the Wynn RA (Sushi Joint) had Happy hour that ended at 6. It was one of the cheapest and best meals my wife and I had while we were there. We ended up going there a couple times for an earlier dinner.

Most of the Cirque shows are worth seeing if you have never been to one. I'd recommend "O" for your first.

The tram is also a great way to get from one end to another instead of walking.

wife and I go a couple times a year to chill. I'll be there next week, and the week after.

We usually spend the day seeing the sights and shopping and hanging at the pools. Where are you staying?

We usually walk through Caesars Palace Forum shops and the Planet Hollywood Desert passage. Both have endless options for great food and shops that are affordable (Billabong, Quicksilver, Etc...) Plant Hollywood has a GREAT seafood spot for lunch.

Bellagio has a seasonal garden thats really cool to walk through. The Margarita Primo there is delicious.

The new high roller ferris wheel behind the Venetian is really cool! They are air-conditioned, and every other cart has a bar with unlimited free drinks. It's about 40$ per person though. Great way to catch some AC and kill an hour.

The helicopter tour over the dam and the grand canyon is fantastic, but even the 3 hour tour is a half day commitment. But fun. Go at sunset.

Zumanity show is awesome. We've seen it twice. Ron White is hilarious if you're into raunchy comedy. I think he performs at NYNY.

Pawn Stars shop was kind of cool.

For pre-dinner drinks the lounge at the top of the Mandarin Oriental (next to Cosmo) is great. We go every time. It's a great quiet place to wind down after the vegas strip chaos. The views are cool, great cocktails, floor to ceiling windows, and it's never crowded. Celebrities there are common. If you're going with the wife and want to treat her to something special for dinner, Twist Pierre Gagnaire also in the Mandarin is a culinary experience she'll never forget. Pricey.

MGM, Mandalay, and Monte Carlo all have lazy river pools. Mandalay and MGM also have topless pools.

I would also check the Mandalay Outdoor concert schedule. Their outdoor concerts on at the pool are pretty cool. I've seen Sublime an Jake Owen there. Nothing like standing barefoot in the sand with a bucket of beer watching live music..

I love arcades and pinball machines and New York New York has an awesome arcade. Lots of pinball machines. I am going at the beginning of August and we are going to aria. We are doing dinners at SW steakhouse and STK. My wife wants to go to minus 5. I know it is cheesy but I think it will be fun.

Go to the wet republic at the mgm. Always a good time. I would also say go do the sky jump, it is the tallest sky jump in the world. All the rides there are a good time.

I spent most of yesterday at the MGM pools. Just depends on what you're into. If you're into a crowded pool and house music thumping all day, a place like Wet Republic is for you. Not really my scene.
