how much do people in various parts of the country pay for those storage places....say for a 10X30' or so place for the boat? it is looking like that is the type of place i will need to keep my boat, and was wondering what the going rate is so I don't get screwed. thanks

I pay $125/mo for a 10 x 30 gated secured self storage area. Seems like the 10 x 30 units in our area range from $80-$130/month Starting next month I'm moving into a huge morton building for $100/month.

I have a 10x30 space also, but it is covered only, not totally enclosed. I can move the boat back far enough though that no sun hits it and it really has to blow for the rain to get it. It was $49 a month, but they are raising it to $54 starting 1-1-03. This is the cheapest place in Round Rock I have found. The other places were $50 to $80 for uncovered.

I'm in Dallas and just north of here (around Ray Roberts if anybody is interested)_I can get a 12x30 for $60 a month, enclosed, covered, electric, concrete pad and roll-up door. Luckily a group of my friends are renting a house and got into an argument over who got to use the garage so they compromised and let me use it for the boat!!

$125/mo. in Corvallis, Oregon (about 80 mi. south of Portland). That gets you a 12x36 storage unit with a 12' door, fully inclosed, concrete floor, electricity, gated and secure.

Thanks for this info. It is EXACTLY what I wanted to know. I'm going to be moving from a rental house in IL with a huge garage to an apartment in FL, with no garage. The boat needs to be stored due to concerns with theft of items in the boat (read: bumpin stereo)

I forgot to mention, my covered parking is in a secure, gated lot and only those with things parked there have a remote to open the gate. I kept our previous boat at the same place, but uncovered, covered only by the canvas cover, and it was $28 a month.

$125 in Roseville, Ca. It's just a big warehouse that stores boats and RV's. You call the night before or the day of and they take your boat out, wash it for you and leave it in the secured yard. The when you return it they wash it for you again and put it away.
