I have a 2006 X30 with 14 inch factory mastercraft wheels. How is everyone putting these 18 inch black wheels under the trailer? I have a tandem axle torsion bar trailer. The spindle will unbolt, but is it just as simple as rotating them down a few splines to gain clearance. Please help

My trailer didn't need any tinkering. Just slapped them on.
Not sure about yours though

what size are those and what size were the originals? Thanks, that looks awesome

18x9
Originals were 14s. Just your standard ****ty chrome trailer wheels with the 10 hole design.
I'll Google a pic for reference.
I have room to go with a larger tire than what I went with too.
I was also worried about clearance issues when I got them

Just do the math........cross section width multiplied by the aspect ratio (50 series = .50) multiplied by two, then divide by 25.4=diameter. The difference in diameter can really be divided by 2 because the bottom side is on the ground and doesn't affect the fender clearance. A lot of 17" & 18" tires match up pretty close. Just need a shorter sidewall.

I'm running the nexen n3000
245/45/18
Wanted to go 255/55/18 but was afraid I'd have clearance issues.
Now seeing the space I have, really wish I would have because I've already had one wheel turfed in a tight ****ty situation

I am the process of doing this on my boatmate trailer right now. You will need wider fenders ( should be a 10.75 wide fender ) to fit a 18x9 wheel and tire. If you had 14 inch wheels you likely had 9 inch wide fenders. Technical you should be running a 10.75 wide fender since you should have at least a inch plus of spacing.

Just received my fenders today and was measuring and drilling holes then taking to power coat tomorrow.

What you might want to is call the trailer manufacture and ask them and see what they say.

When I called Boatmate and they asked for my Vin and he knew exactly what would and wouldn't fit. I have the company info who makes the fenders for boatmate. PM me and I can give you the info if interested. Once I have the fenders mounted I am going to check back spacing and order wheels.

One thing which is a bummer is that there isn't a huge selection of 5 x 4.5 wheel with 0 back spacing. One thing I am debating is going with a wheel adaptor to change the 5 x 4.5 to a 5 x 5 and that would open up the door for almost any wheel.

I just had my moto metal's drilled to my lug spec.
I ordered from rimzone, and they just had my wheels drilled from blanks to my lug pattern from moto metal

Yes, you can change your clearance by simply rotating a couple splines on the torsion axles. My trailer was a total low rider and I did it to gain additional clearance under the prop guard. You might be able to pull the wheels in a bit with a negative offset, raise the axles, and get your 18s tucked under the outside lip of the fender. Try to find a 18 x 7 or 18 x 8" wheel and stick with a tire narrower than 8", might work?

Well I'll be darned! I'll have to check that out on my trailer when the boat gets back from the shop. If I had about another inch my prop guard wouldn't drag on my nice driveway everytime I pull out out of the gates, and I woukdnt have to shim the wheels with 2x6s to avoid it lol

And he'd be looking for a positive offset. Negative will make them stick out further
