It almost doesn't even look like TS BS. It looks like he had pretty good control of the spin and enough air even though the landing was sketchy.

I don't think he landed that he just did that backslide thing like Sean Murray does and popped back up. I'm not saying I could do it or that it wasn't cool. I just don't think that that was a legitimate landing.

To Ron Lindsay (ronnyboy27), During what part of the video did you NOT think it was legitimate? He butt checked - yes. But he didn't spin out, fall, tumbleturn back up or anything. Given the difficulty of what he pulled off - I think the least we can do is call it "legitimate". It still would have counted if it were in a contest - and that tends to be how I measure these things.

I'm just saying it wasn't a clean landing. Just my opinion. I thought it was kinda of hard to tell how he landed. But it didn't look clean. He did get all the way around two times. Say what you want but I didn't think it was clean enough to be the first one. 99% of the way there just not all the way. That's my opinion and everyone in the world is free to disagree.

I think he will probably land one clean very soon if not in the next few weeks or months.

Last thread I read on here had it as an O/A spin; that was pretty much flat...looking good. In my mind, that butt check counts as landing the spin...with some points marked off for execution. Nice!

Because TS BS is one of the hardest spinning rotations because you dont have a lot to pull on. The handle is already near the back of your hip as you edge in TS. Then you have to do 2 and 1/2 handle passes just to do a 720. TS BS is just and awkward spinning rotation no matter who you are. The fact that Shane can get 2 spins on it is very impressive. I thought OA would have been the way to go, but flat is even harder.

You know, I have been reading this post and I am totally sure it Landed a TS BS 7, if had I would be claiming I landed it, however I think I would add that I rode away after a massive butt check. The first 7s I landed I was super stoked on told every one "I got a seven around today, I butt checked hard but I rode it out." I got mad respect for any Toe Backside spinning, it is insanely hard. I cannot wait to see him landing them nice and clean, I guess the real question is who gunna land a TS BS 9 now?

I'm not even sure I'd call that a "butt-check". To me, a butt-check is landing out the back (due to under-rotating and/or being a little off-center in the air) and having your butt hit the water nearly simultaneously with your board. It's hard to tell from the video, but it looked like Shane stomped the landing (upright and fully rotated), but because he only weighs like 27 lbs., the impact jolted him down towards the water. It happens to him a lot on double-ups, even when the rotation and position at landing looks good.

TS BS 9? I think we will see people landing 1080s consistantly before that. We may even see a 1260 before a TS BS 9.

That has to be the worst facial hair I've ever seen. I wonder where they had him park his big rig while riding. Sick trick and crazy riding.

How about a HS BS 9... I think Rusty will go for them if he gets 1080s dialed.

that was sick! shane started the spin so slow that was unbelievable, and he definately landed clean, but almost lost it. that looked like a clean landing, then a good save. danny harf was talking about hs bs 9's in WBM. i think henshaw will be the one to stick one though, that guys insane at HS BS spinning.
