So my parents have a 2006 MC X-30 and when I had it out recently the speedometer was spiking all over the place, at times it would read normal (between 21-24 for wakeboarding) and at other times it would read 15mph and then spike to over 45mph all while pulling the same rider. I checked the paddle wheel, I figured something was affecting the water flow to it, and it seems to be alright. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Oh and the boat has the MCX motor if that makes a difference.

My guess would be the connection of the wires to the back of the gauge or computer. Maybe the gauge is just freaking out?
