I got a little inspired by this thread and decided to make my own site. Be easy. First time with Dreamweaver and just wanted something to share photos with family and friends. www.AlanSlabaugh.com

Alan, In line 6 of your HTML code where it says untitled document,<title>Untitled Document</title> you should add a title for your site and any key words you want to show up on a google search. Not bad for a first timer (Message edited by brinks on February 12, 2009)

Riley, Jacober, thx for the compliments! The shot from Rob is one of my favorite black & white pictures. Can wait that all the guys coming back to germany this year for the extreme playgrounds. Last year was a very nice time…. The site is done with a simple google blog tool! Ist like wordpress. But the best, its all for free and the webspace is included up to 2 gigabyte. You only have to registrate to blogspot...

brinks, thanks for the tip. Nick, I like that picture too. It was taken with a P&S through a tinted window going down the highway at 7o mph. I remember having a hard time timing the telephone polls with the super long shutter delay on the P&S.

Can someone point me in the right direction for creating my own site. I currently use pbase and flickr, but I want to move to something more professional and print sales oriented. I'm leaning towards Zenfolio, but am interested in just creating my own if it's not to difficult. Here is my pbase which has not been updated in a long time http://www.pbase.com/russian64/profile

Chris, I was in your shoes 48 hrs ago. I just went to godaddy.com, got my domain, added their hosting feature, and uploaded straight from Lightroom and Dreamweaver. There was some trial and error involved, but I bet I could do it all over again in 2 hrs.

As far as doing a basic site, it is pretty easy, just word or adobe document. When you start getting into CSS, Flash, PHP, anhd other codes and programs it can be hard but very rewarding!

I'm not really sure that you can call it my site but i was really happy with the outcome of the Canyon Lake Wakeboard Club website. It was my first attempt at a website so not too bad in my opinion. I was going for a clean site that conveyed all the pertinent info. Thanks again to Joe Umali for the tip on the photo viewer. More so the pics are mine from 2007 shooting with a Kodak p&s to last year when i got my XTI. It's kind of fun to see my own progression at shooting from the first contest to the last one... http://www.wakeboardclub.com/
