not bad. i like the dual rudders, ballast, and surf tabs. those would make leveling a lop sided boat so easy while wakeboarding instead of moving people around, or adjusting rear sacks every time some one moves a bit. instant results. wish they had better overall pics of the boat though.

Very Nice. I love the Epics and a 21 footer sounds great. I would like to see some photos of that Rip Curl boat.

Cory, I never even thought of using the surf tabs to level what is a pretty weight sensitive boat. Installing these on my 09 might now be a winter project!

Neoprene seats sounds like a good idea. I wonder how they will hold up tho.

I am pretty sure MB tried that on their B52 in 1998 or somewhere around then. Since it didn't last long I am guessing it is a fail. Who knows though, maybe Epic found a different way to do it.

Too bad they don't have any better shots of the entire exterior of the boat and entire shots of the interior.

It they subtled out there lines a little Epic might be my favorite boat. I still can't get over the lines. At least the bow.

What kind of ballast does the boat use, is it gravity fed? if not then what are those holes above the side wake plates?

The 'lines' of the boat/the bow that you don't like are very important to the wake that the Epic's produce. It's not that they designed it that way sheerly to look different.

Only the lines below the waterline effect the wake performance

i wonder if dual trim tabs will help a wakeboard wake? i certainly think they would help the surf wake. i think they would make your boat turn slightly in the direction opposite the tab you put down.i just wonder?

whats that black thing behind the exhaust and prop?
Old     (cwb4me)      Join Date: Apr 2010       09-27-2010, 5:44 AM Reply
fresh air exhaust or fae it's called to keep exhaust fumes down at the transom.

I was wondering the same thing about the holes above the wake plates if they were gravity fed ballast tanks. I to can not get over the the front of the boat to me it looks ugly, but the rest o the boat looks great.

I was about to buy an Epic 23v back in Sept 09 but didn't want a transom stereo...wish they had a way to delete that but I understand it's probably part of the hull mold. I test drove one for about 45 min and loved the power, the wake was crazy clean...little steep looking. The dual rudder did it's job in reverse. Only complaint I really had was the glove box lid was warped (figured they would have caught that or replaced it) and a piece of trim around the driver console was already falling off everytime we hit big rollers. This was a new demo boat with only a couple dozen hours. This 21v looks great and would be a great boat for those looking to get a boat in a garage.

whats the MSRP?
Old     (olmoomba)      Join Date: Apr 2010       09-27-2010, 8:41 AM Reply
here's what I heard. The msrp on teh 21V is $49,900 and that's without audio. It will have 3500 lbs ballast, fast fill (gravity fill) and a 5.7L Mercruiser with Merc's smart tow gps. All sea deck foam floor, storage and walls...NO CARPET! anywhere. Something new for the hull that I wish I had in my 23V are spray pockets and rounding to the transom. The glove box is bigger with a thicker lid.

I like it, so somebody buy my boat so I get one of these! If I get a newer model (07 compared to 11) but smaller.......is it an upgrade?

A-Dub; I saw the I/O out in Dusseldorf for the International Boat show... its off the chain!

Beautiful Epic build quality in a sportsboat layout with an electric drive!
I hung around for ages but no one was there to tell me any more about the boat... looked sweet though!

Anyone have input on Epics build quality? Last time I looked at Epics, they were building Toyotas ski boat. They say all the right things in the videos, but then again what company doesnt. I would love a new 21' Super Air Nautique, but I cannot stomach the 85k msrp on a mildly equiped boat...

Had a look over the boat at expo, really, really liked what I saw. Lots of smart technology. As already mentioned, the hull has been slightly modified around the rear also, which is nice.

This is a totally different/separate company than the Epic by Toyota. There are plenty of threads regarding the new Epic boats and how their owners love them.

I had no idea the new epic boats had no company relation to the models co-developed with Toyota in the past.

I realize there are owner threads that discuss how much said owners love them, I guess I'm looking for a more unbiased opinion. Thanks...

Matt, I can't give you an unbiased opinion I guess, because I own a 23v. But I live 15min sw of Milw. So if you want to make the trip over and see for your self, I'll let you crawl all over it and make up your own mind. And if you bring some beer for me, and some gas for the boat, I'll even take you out and drag you around the lake.
