So, the board I've been riding for a long time has been a Hyperlite Belmont DNA 136. I'm the type of rider that can throw heelside wake-to-wakes all day long, get in a couple of grabs here and there, and do some toeside 180's. That's about it. I ride exclusively boat, as there's no cable anywhere near us.

So I decided to step up to a newer board. Since Slingshot is local to me and has such a highly regarded reputation, I chose to go with them.

I threw down on some 2014 RAD boots and the 2014 Oli. They didn't have the 140 in stock so I got the 136. I figured that I'd be okay since I'm still within the weight range according to their website:

Oli 132, 75 - 135 lbs (34-61kg) Continuous
Oli 136, 105 - 175 lbs (47-79kg) Continuous
Oli 140, 145-235 lbs (65-106kg) Continuous

I am 5'10 and this summer I was weighing in at 165 to 169.

Do you think I'll be fine with the 136? or do you think I should start searching for a 140 before I take my 136 out of the shrink wrap?

I would personally go 140. Ive always liked a little more board under my feet.. especially for boat. I think being 5' 10, you wont get the stance options or even the butter landings that you would with a 140. I dont know how old you are but it leaves room to grow too.. Hope this helps.

I'd go with the 140 as well just to enjoy the easier landings and bigger sweet spot off the wake. The SS boards are super light to begin with, so you wont notice any additional weight from 4cm of board.
