Down to two X-10's. Both are brand new. The first is a 2016 w/ Gen 2, 4" screen, two tower speakers. The other is a 2014 no Gen2 however it has the pro package and surf tabs. Has the 7" touchscreen and 4 tower speakers. Everything else is pretty similar. The 2014 is $11,500 less. Thoughts?

That is a tough one. How many hours? Same Engine?

You will definitely want Gen2 or GSA so plan to spend another $4k to get the boat to where it needs to be. That makes the difference about $8k. 2 years newer is nice. pro package and extra tower speakers are also nice.

Which colour do you like better? Same trailer too?

Both are brand new - zero hours. Same motor (5.7) and same trailers. We like both colors. What is GSA? Quotes I'm getting to add Gen2 to the 2014 range from $6-10 grand.

Go surf assist is basically an aftermarket gen 2 surf system. Almost identical to the MC system. Same principle just some added channels on the go surf assist system.

As mentioned GSA is going to run you 4-5k and they're actually already back ordered. Adding Gen 2 to the 14 as you mentioned is 6-10. Now you're talking 3-6 k difference for a 2 year newer boat that hasn't say parked for 2 seasons. The only way I see this is a good deal on the 16 or the 14 is priced too high. Couple that with the rest and the 16 is the no brainier for me. The 2 years in newer model year and already installed Gen 2 more than make up for the price difference.

The 2014 should be 20k+ less if options are basically identical. No way I'd take the '14

Both have 5 year warranties as they are both brand new. Technically the 2014 has more options including 7" touchscreen, pro package and two more tower speakers than the 2016 which has 4" screen and two less tower speakers. The 2016 has Gen2 and the 2014 has surf tabs. I think I am going to go for the 2016.

Can't they update the 2014 to the Gen 2 surf system? Your right you get new boat warranty from purchase date for first owner

But the minute you walk off the lot you have a two year old boat. Buyers don't care you bought it in 2016 brand new, still have to list it as a 2014 and when you do that you will recognize the purchase price difference real quick. Put two new tower speakers in the 2016 and be done. That is if the extra coin doesn't cause any heartache.

That 2014 will depreciate an additional 15k+ the moment you walk off the lot and the surf tabs help but are not great. Gen2 is substantially better.

Completely agree with the comments suggesting the 2016. Plus you have the new gel coat design which some people seem to prefer.

One more thought, why has that 2014 not sold in two years? There has to be something about it buyers are not liking. Have to wonder the resale potential if they haven't been able to sell it new.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. All the comments made were all the points I considered as I evaluated theses two boats. I am going to go for the 2016. I can't wait for the weather to turn!
