On any normal day going 1 for 2 with 1 RBI and 1 Run against Verlander is a solid outing. It just looks less impressive when the guy that bats behind you hits a home run every at bat.

It seemed that the fox announcers were very dissapointed with Detroit getting beat and Verlander getting shelled.

Tim McCarver has to be the worst commentator in baseball. Zito still has a very nice curveball and I just laughed when McCarver called it a change up. If you can not recognize a pitch that breaks damn near 3 feet then you shouldn't be calling a game IMO. Every year I shake my head watching the World Series with stuff that comes out his mouth.
