First off, I apologize for the newb questions and appreciate all the help.

I thought that since the Vandall Edition came with the Battery Isolator Switch that it also came with 2 batteries. However, it appears that is incorrect. Can someone confirm that?

If so, is it as easy as just wiring a second battery to the Isolator Switch? Can I do it myself or should I have the dealer do it (for warranty reasons)?

Thanks in advance

I am just about 100% positive a 2nd battery is an additional option on all axis boats. It doesn't come standard on any version. Jump in this thread the guy with the yellow axis added a 2nd battery and I am sure if you shoot him a message he will let you know the best way to hook it up.

Yeah, that's what my dealer said, that it was an option not standard, but when I look at the AXIS website and the brochure there isn't an option that says "2nd Battery" or anything like that. That's why I'm confused.

Any ways, thanks for the response and suggestion.

I know it becomes an option for 2011. At least that is what the paperwork I saw said. I believe it is fairly easy to add the battery yourself.

I added a second battery to my boat. its very easy. Greg (yellow axis) helped me with mine. you ground the two batteries together and add the positive wire to the second battery to the #2 post on the back of the switch. there are also diagrams on the perko website that might help.

Jeremy, Send you back an email , but yup, just like I explained to Ed and how he put it, ground the batteries and hook the positive of batt 2 to the perko on the 2 slot. Second batt will be backup battery in a sense. On the Axis website its Features options and specs area, there is a part called Battery Isolator Switch. When we ordered, we had it put on there too. I would check with the dealer if you dont have an isolator switch to verify if you put it in that it won't void the electronics part of the warranty since youre wiring it and electronics pass through it.. For the dealer to install it, I would be surprised if it took all of 10 minutes and its insurance that your warranty claims (hoping you dont have any) will go through without issues. Let me know if you have any other questions.
