I just shattered my lens on my sunglasses, 2nd time in the last month, and I am not paying $75 again to get them fixed. I'm moving on to another brand. Any recommendations? I need a pair that fit a big head.

Eric,

You you watch whiskymilitia.com? I've had some great scores there with Spy and Oakley.. Otherwise, Ilove my Von Zippers and my Fox shades, I've got over 20 pairs now.

I fish as well as wakeboard and am aboard or off shore 6 days a week. Sunglasses are so important I write them off my taxes. (true) Catch a 4oz jig in the face when the hook pulls and you want good shades or go blind. Spend the last 2.5 decades in the Florida sun and you'll want the best for your eyes. As a marine surveyor I kinda relay upon my vision.

Maui Jim. That is all I wear.

Note** I have a pair of 580 Costa Del Mars that I keep for snow. Crazy good for snow glare but can't compare to the Mj's on the water.

I was getting ready to post Maui Jims as well. The optics are ridiculously good, plus they have a comfortable fit.

i picked up the Oakley gas cans and i cant stand them, frames look good, but they dont fit your head worth a crap. everytime i look down to do anything they fall right off my face onto the ground/floor/water whatever.

Maui Jims are what I shattered. I love them but they charge $75 to replace the lenses. You drop them once and they are done. I have some Spys also and they are super durable, I want some more durable.

I used to go through costas but I got tired of EVERYONE around here having the same glasses. Oakley gascans are way to small for my face. I've had a polarized pair of Oakley hijynks (or however you spell them) for close to a year and I LOVE them. They stay on my face very well, and the polarized lenses are awesome. Three of my friends have tried them on and all went out and got them right after. Highly suggest those. And they look cool haha.

BOMBER!!!! My Nitros are sick. You want quality for cheap, I got em for 30 bucks and theyre polarized lens with a polycarbonate frame. They float, and when I dropped them off my roof(don't ask)...not even a scratch. Bombereyewear.com

Check out Tres Noir. They are by far the best glasses I have ever owned. Nothing but quality, and good looks....plus not everyone else has them. I have two pair and will be getting a third here very soon. They are DOPE!

I've got these Oakley Eye Patches and love them. The lens are huge, I wish the side arms were a little thicker to block out more sun from the sides. I had Oakley Gascan's and they were too small. Got a polarized pair on sale for under $100.

no ones recommended a $10-$15 pair for the local gas station, yet??? maybe i'm the only one who breaks them or loses them a lot? anyway, that's what I roll with.

Spy Cooper. I tend to stick with what works. I have four pairs now, I get a new color every season. The oldest pair I have still fits great and have scratch free lenses. Not too expensive either. Check em out.

Harley Clifford has been wearing this new style called Holbrook. These could be a good option if your looking for new shades this summer.

My Anarchy's have lasted 3 years now.. and gone through a lot. I never would have considered them, but got some polarized for a great deal. They surprise me all the time with durability and scratch resistance.

http://www.anarchyeyewear.com/products/sunglasses.html

Whatever you get, I'm a go polarized or don't go at all. Physics teacher told me in high school if you don't wear polarized you could be doing as much damage as protection with non-polarized lenses

Got a pair of Oil Drums I've had for about a year. Great shades.

Spy Optics: has anyone noticed the fit/shaping of the frames has changed? I can no longer buy Spy's with confidence b/c I'm unsure if they will fit my face. ANyone else noticed this?

Ray Ban! I have been wearing Rayban's for a little over a year now and nothing I have had in the past compares. Optics, filters, comfort etc are all top notch. Yes everyone says they are old man sunglasses, but their new styles are fantastic. Check em out, you will be impressed.

I don't know Nacho, I received a pair of Haymakers last fall and they fit me great, but my brother doesn't like how they fit his face.

NATIVE!
Nobody's thrown it out there! I have a pair of Gonzo's. They stay on better than my Gascans, the optics are on the same level as well, but they are way more comfortable. I also rock a pair of Costa's, but the Native's come out more and more! They have a great warranty too

I would definitely go with Oakley. I have a pair of Oakley Half Jackets that i customized. but if you are looking for something a little more stylish i would look at the Oakley Antix.

CIRE...

being that you only responded to one suggestion, the VZ stache, i'll chime in here. i have these in black and they are super fun and get a lot of play but they don't feel super solid. also have the vz fultons that are great and feel much better. still couldn't pick one over the other if i had to though. take a look at anon too. i have the allnighters but don't wear them much. their 'flasher' is along the same lines as the vz stache.

There are so many suggestions above, I don't know what to do now. I have picked out a few I like and I will go to my local shop to try them. Whatever fits best will be coming home with me.

I've got some Oakley Fuel Cells on the way. Can't wait cuz I'm down to some really old shades right now. Plus, they have the patriotic "O" and case that you can get now. Too cool!
