lol....7, as in 27 degrees when I left the house this morning! Apparently, Mother Nature failed to recognize the 2 week limit for cold weather in the State of Florida. It should be in the 70's tomorrow through next weekend! The water, however, will be a little chilly. At least it slows down the alligator activity!

Liz, The forecast for next weekend is calling for rain at this point. Let's keep an eye on it. If we need to ride Friday instead of Sunday, I can make that happen! Looking forward to seeing you both!

You're awesome, Kat. I have been watching the forecast like a hawk! The only true commitment we have is family Saturday afternoon and The Wakeboard Camp Monday. Let's play it by ear.

Rode with Liz & Mike at OWC today...beautiful weather!! AND, Mike has some lovely "fun box" marks on his body. He rode that slider from tummy to a$$; it was actually very impressive. I think Liz just might have caught it on video!!

Geri.....unbelievably, the Sunny Florida weather is hiding today. We aren't going out to ride. It's very sad! Things aren't looking so good for the Nascar race to finish today either! I'm sure Liz will post some OWC pics when she gets back home. At least they get to ride at the Wakeboard Camp tomorrow!

Geri - as soon as I catch my breath your board will be graced with one, too! Awesome time this weekend - Kat and Kim are very gracious hosts. The river was awesome with such a great wake to ride. Photos, thoughts, etc to come.

Day one - left house at 4:30 -EARLY! The flight was fine but getting checked out at the Avis counter blew. Drove to OWC - the scenic route thanks to Orange Blossom and Orange. OWC was a hoot especially seeing Kat finally ride the cable after living in the area for so long. Lots of European tourists getting worked on the dock starts at the little lake. I had fun but knew that I would be sore the next day. Mike got WORKED on the flat box (?) after having 4 or 5 nearly box-long slides. That's why we wear helmets boys and girls! It was great to catch up with Kat in her neck of the woods. Kat gettin' ready... Kat dock start Kat setting an edge Mike ollie 180

Day Two - Saturday - started out gloomy which was fine because we went out to sea with the family. If anyone is ever faced with spreading ashes in the ocean you have got to check out http://www.cremationsolutions.com/c2/The-Shell-Biodegradable-Scattering-Urn-p24.html They are beautiful and work great! Simple, straight forward and green! Had a nice lunch with my extended family and went on our way. The sun started to break through on Saturday afternoon and Mike and I cruised the FL coast down through the nature preserves at Cape Canaveral all the way to the mecca of board shorts: Ron Jon's Surf Shop. Took the interstate home since it was nearly 9pm. Got a bite to eat on our own at Snack Jacks on the coast in Flagler Beach. Saw a few friends that day... Day 3 - Sunday. The day started out with rain outside of our window and the depressing outlook that we weren't going to get to ride behind Kat's Nautique. We spoke early in the morning and knew that things didn't look promising...Plan B was for Mike and I to "do" Daytona Beach and then to head up the coast to St. Augustine. We did Daytona Beach and Mike lasted about 20 minutes going through the tacky souvenir shops. There were lots and lots of depressed NASCAR fans wandering around since the rain meant maybe no Daytona 500. Sat on a wet stoop and got the call from Kat that she was willing but that it didn't look good. We agreed that we wouldn't even try since the rain had picked up and I knew we were heading to The Wakeboard Camp the next day. Mike and I headed to St. Augustine, listening to horrible music on XM Radio when....what was that?!?...KAT CALLED! We were ON!! There was a break in the weather pattern and they were going if we wanted to join them or not! Mike was driving - I did the universal finger-in-the-air-rotating- "turn around" signal and we hightailed it to DeLand FL and the St. John's river. The sun came out, the temp rose to 70 and we rode behind the sickest boat with Kat and Kim the most gracious hostesses in all of FL. Kat was tearing it up with her stylie nose grabs and her sweet tantrum. I was pleased to go wake 2 wake. They were generous and let Mike take 2 sets - he was grinning from ear to ear...still is I think! He was happy to land a back roll, tantrum and 360. Ollieing that ollie-gator is something that he will never forget... Kat W2W 180 Nose Grab Ollie 180 - check out the spray Method

PS - we got intimate with Flossy. My life will never be the same. Night of Day 3 - went to The Chart House for dinner. Wow. Nothing else to say. All we had was the salad bar but we had a window seat on the harbor and all of the NASCAR team yachts were there. I'm not a NASCAR fan but I could certainly get along with living on one of those ships. Day 4 - woke up early and loaded into the car. Headed to The Wakeboard Camp in Clermont. Had plenty of time and rode two great sessions in the morning with Kyle. Kyle is amazing. The temp had really dropped and the wind was fierce but whatta ya know the far side of the lake was perfect. Got some advice on some drills to do for the start of the season so I can get more board control and edge. Kyle is just so zen and positive... best wakeboard coach ever...headed towards the airport and sat outside at a Starbucks for 1.5 hours just soaking up the sun. Home was nice but we got 4 inches of snow today. April is a long way off. Kat, thank you for making our trip special. It was a difficult time with family events but the time wakeboarding helped give us some much-needed balance and fun. You know when you visit Chicago/WI you have a spot with us. Tell Kim (who is a great driver by the way), "Hi."

Hey Liz, Thanks for all the pics! I rarely get any of myself...something about Kimmie driving & taking pics at the same time seems to be a problem!! We thoroughly enjoyed our outing with you guys! (Oh, and so did Flossy!!) We went out yesterday & I tried to take that tantrum nice & slow. Ended up twisting my ankle pretty bad & only got to ride about 10 minutes! That gave us more time for wildlife watching. Check out these two big guys, and I mean BIG!! Now, post up some pics of you guys! And, a link to that fun box experience Mike had!

lol, Kim!! Yes, the alligators are in nearly every body of water in Florida! Don't worry though! You should be safe for Wake Games, as I think they tend to remove the reptiles from OWC!
