Hopefully you can follow me on my question here. I'm looking to take the numbers from a group of cells and distribute evenly between a number that varies daily. I'm trying to distribute work evenly among a group of employees. I've determined that job A might entail 37% of an employees 8 hour day while job B may entail 43% of a day, job C 88%, job D 71%, job E 61%, job F 59%, etc.

How would I create and excel formula that would take the .37, .43, .88, .71, .61, and .59 and divide by the number of employees for a particular day (let's say 3 for example) and then tell me that employee 1 is assigned jobs A&E, employee 2 is assigned jobs B&F etc.

I know it seems really simple to look at this and just get as close to 100% as possible but when I've got 70-80 of the percentages to look at it is time consuming to try to do it on paper. Any help would be appreciated. I've got people doing this on paper and it's killing my business plan.

If you need me to explain anything differently please let me know. Nick

Your distributing percentages by a single employee, and then your trying to find a way to match these percentages up to get 100% for each employee?

A single formula seems like the wrong way to go with this. It would be complicated and time consuming to write in one formula. You need a comprehensive spreadsheet to combine "vlookups" and "if" statements.

PM me and I can see what I can do with a sample of the data?
